Had Rox gotten out of west all those years, MJ would have left NBA without a ring. Dream was obviously better than MJ (1st pick against 3rd, do you think why Rox take Dream and past MJ?). :D

Awwwwwww... That IROC it is mean! You know what? I'd feel sorry for you if only you hadn't posted the below quotes...

So, let me see if I understand here... it's okay for you to belittle other people's opinions (eek smiley; "LOL at MJ being overrated"), but how DARE anyone make fun of you for your opinion, right?

We can all be courteous here, or we can all make fun of each other. YOU set the tone, not him.

And you're right... opinions can't be wrong. Carladyfan can go all the way through life being of the opinion that Wilt would be "just another center" in the 80s, that Britney Spears is classy, and that the Earth is really flat after all. That's fine. But I'm still gonna laugh at him for it.

    Oh yeah... almost forgot:

Right. You laughed at his opinion out of shock. You weren't laughing because you thought he (and I) were idiots, surely.

We can all be courteous here, or we can all make fun of each other. YOU set the tone, not him. Don't complain when you get the same treatment tossed back your way.

these stats are wrong. particularly for the playoffs. he performed better in the 95 playoffs than he did the 96 or 97 in shooting percentage and ppg.

I don't give a damn what Nick said. I watched him play, too. I saw Mike shoot at a high percentage and average over 31 ppg. Mike needed a power forward. They addressed that and all was well.

I don't wanna be a jerk here. But the fact you were 7 when all this was going on...9 in 1995....puts a lot of this thread in perspective.

Yea I was 7 and 9 in 95 but I've been watching basketball since the age of 4. I never said anything wrong in this thread. All I ask was a simple question. And I guess people got mad because I said I think the Rockets would have one less ring if MJ never left, and that I think MJ is the GOAT.

i was 12 in 1986. i have vague memories of how good that team was. but i had zero historical perspective with relation to that rockets team. i'm thinking the same MAY be true of you when you were 7 and 9.

I want to ask you one question. Why do you feel MJ was over-rated?

You know what I can respect what you're saying. I can't lie I don't know much about the 86 Rockets team, but I did start learnig more about the NBA when the 89-90 season came around.

    He wasn't overrated.
    Dream was underrated.

MJ really never had to face a great center in his prime in the finals. (kareem was too old in the 1st bulls championship)

That was the obvious weakness for the MJ Teams. All teams have weaknesses.

Oh before you were born, Dream made it to the Finals BEFORE MJ ..like 6 years before MJ.

What if What if What if

There was I think 2 dudes on this board that say MJ was over-rater. So I'm trying to find out how can a man that has 6 rings, 5 mvp's be over-rater. I unerstand MJ never faced a great center but you can't blame him for that and knock on what he have did in his whole career. And why do you feel Dream was under-rater?

i guess you never lived or were too young during those years.
notice how LeBron, Kobe etc get some much publicity and praise these days?

Houston NEVER got that. Dream NEVER got that. and the only you know if we didn't get Yao, we'd be on the Memphis Grizzlies amount of publicity.

Oh, the time when the Rockets actually got a crap load of TV Time?? the championship years? WRONG..

When Charles came here. its a popularity contest. and the Rockets, (unlike today) were not popular.

They didn't know Dream back them cause you never really got to see him outside Houston. The 80s was about the Lakers and The Celtics.

Now you know why I get ticked off when scrubs/newbs get all whiny about what Stephen A Smith or Charles or Yahoo etc doesn't kiss the Rockets butt?

We never got the respect back in the day , and these pansies here complain about not mentioning Yao every 5 seconds.
