I don't think playoffs should be this team's (management excluded) concentration. They should concentrate on the guys figuring out each other on the court and a good flowing offense and an effective team defense.

If we reach the playoffs, that's an added bonus. Either way, I trust Morey will still be able to do something in the off season regardless of our end season result.

As far as the players and coaches are concerned they should find what works well for this team and prepare for next season when we're expected to actually go deep in the playoffs. Let Wizard and the rest of the management worry about our record (playoffs or not) and trades/drafts position.

I think this team's playoff hope rides on how much the backup PF and C spots give them. Though it may not look it, we have enough quality wing players to endure dry spells by Martin. However, unless someone in the frontcourt starts to step up to help Scola and Hayes in the paint, both offensively and defensively, wins will continue to be tough to come by.

In other words, our playoff chances might depend on Jeffries, Hill, and Armstrong.

A Western Conference team will need to be about +10 (W minus L) to make it in. If we lose tonight (pretty high probability), we'll be at 0 so it looks highly unlikely that we'll make it in since we'd need to go +10 in only 26 games.

Spurs and Blazers, currently the 7th and 8th seed, respectively, both won tonight.

I think we will make the playoffs - we're adjusting to all the changes and it will take 5 or 6 more games before guys start to get comfortable.

This team just isn't good enough to make the playoffs in the West.

The loss of Landry and Lowry hurt in the short term.

    Lotto here we come!!! :( :) :( *

    *I'm not sure which

Before the trade, we had a good chance.

Afterward, I've said it before and I will say it again, the Rockets management have given up on THIS season. I love Scola but he can't be the only legit post player on this team and for us to get far against anyone.

Funny, I think we have a better chance after the trade.

Kevin Martin will definite make a pretty big impact once he finds himself in this offense.

I would be very surprised if we don't get the 8th seed.

5 or 6 games might be too long.

I think so. Why? Beccause, Rick Adelman is our coach. The guy is a proven winner.

He had only miss the playoffs twice in his last 18 years of coaching. I'm a believer of trends; and the trend with Adelman is that the team he's coaching will either make the playoff his entire tenure there, or never go while he's there(Golden State). I don't think that trend will break this season, even if we squeak into the playoffs.

Again, I have to say no . . . the Rockets have to pass the Trailblazers and Spurs, and jump over the Hornets.

I have to say all of those teams are better than us right now in the standings and most likely talent wise.

We have no inside defense or a consistent inside scoring presence (except maybe Scola), or a bonafide go to guy, while the defense is creeping below average at times.

We might have too many holes to consider the playoffs, this year.

It's going to take a good draft, a healthy Yao Ming, possibly another scorer, and a good FA acquisitions at pf or C for us to seriously move up in the standings.
