if someone isn’t passionate about the game, I wouldn’t want them on my team…let alone paying them 30+ mil/yr

it’s no wonder he hasn’t improved his game at all since entering the league

That's the beauty of that "potential" label. I mean look at some of our posters in our forum that were defending acquiring Ben at all costs for Harden, saying that it was a big mistake that Houston wasn't acquiring him, etc etc. The guy has a lot going for him (length, athleticism, elite defense, elite vision, etc) despite his mental deficiencies. Some guys can live off that "potential" label just enough to get paid. Many many good examples of previous guys doing that in this league.

this is true…Benjamin was never fooling me tho

he’s been suspect to me since LSU

at least he’s BK’s problem and not ours, because if he was on this team, I probably would’ve said something to get me banned by now

So much of their season relies on Ben Simmons and Kyrie Irving being able to actually show up to play the game of basketball.

So yeah.. I think the Nets are going to be a mess this year. Are they going to be a lottery team.. no I think as long as KD is healthy they’ll be competitive but still a huge mess of a team especially in the locker room.

Durant's health is not a given. If I had to make a prediction, I would guess that Kyrie plays more games this year than KD.

Imagine if Ben had a shot and no issues, I know it is not realistic the potential......

KD is so soft that a 2 game losing streak will probably send him spiraling.

With every team with star veterans, it’s mostly a question of health. With this team there’s a “bit” more due to Kyrie’s antics, and Simmons/KD’s moodiness. But the talent is still plenty good to be at minimum a mid tier playoff team. Simmons is the biggest question, imo. He doesn’t have to be dominant though. Pattie Mills, Joe Harris, Cam Thomas (potential), Tj Warren…I forget rest of roster. But that’s not a TERRIBLE roster. That’s still 3 potential allstar players including one HOFer (albeit 35yo). I’m just not going into this season expecting them to implode entirely. And since I expect us to be winning more, I’m not expecting a swap this year — and if it did, wouldn’t expect it to net us a top pick. I’m wrong about a lot of stuff though, so I’m really just trying to jinx them…

Why are the Nets being talked about in the GARM?? Do I really want to know the answer to my own question?

Our future roster moves rely heavily on how well their team performs. After this year, their drafts are our drafts.

I keep looking for new cracks in the seams.
I for one am not buying the whole Things are fine in Brooklyn garbage they are serving the media.
    Smoke and mirrors.
At it core, the Nets are unstable. The outcome is assured. Just a question of when and what sparks the demise and how it unfolds.

Potential for crashing, but they’re an extremely talented team that could easily go all the way if they focus on basketball.

They goes as KD goes. If he gets hurt they fall to the lottery if he plays they are probably a second round exit.

They are a massively talented team. I think a lot of uncertainty and frustration caused KD to request a trade. I think once they actually get out there and start playing ball, a lot of the dysfunction goes away. Health is the biggest uncertainty for this year.

Did Nash just repeat how Doc Rivers defended Simmons before things went south?

I don't think I have ever as an adult told a family member to leave or tell them they are a bad family member. I may have threatened to run away when I was 5 years old to see if anyone would call my bluff, so I guess KD has the maturity of a 5 year old if they think this is normal behavior.

Side note, if any employer ever tells you that "we are a family" run. Thats just an excuse for them to abuse you and underpay you, and then have you not complain about it.
