apparently who the coach is does make a difference Nets rout Bucks for signature victory to extend winning streak to eight https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/nets/ny-bucks-kevin-durant-giannis-antetokounmpo-20221224-t77ldaviwfhs3ft4cpgmjmheie-story.html
Trade Jalen Green to the Nets, he makes them tank, Rockets get top picks for years. Get it done Stone.
https://sports.yahoo.com/winners-losers-kyrie-irving-trade-042501474.html WINNER: Houston Rockets Remember when Houston traded James Harden to the Nets? The Rockets now control — either outright have or have swap rights — for every Nets first-round pick between now and 2027. Those picks look much more valuable tonight than they did 24 hours ago, and if Durant does ask for a trade and push his way out of Brooklyn this summer then the Rockets could be sitting on a treasure chest. This trade was good news for the Rockets.
Man they really f*cked up. These picks are looking great. The Mavs picks they got is useless, it would not have been in the lotto even without Irving. Doncic is 25 years old and he alone will win you half your regular season games for the next decade. Unless by some miracle the Nets acquire another star using the bits and pieces they have, their picks are going to be in the 5 to 15 range from 2024 onwards. So at some point all these young guys we have will mature, we will sign 1-2 great FA's and while we're competing for the second round playoffs we will always have a great pick to upgrade with. Amazing.
No as long as they've got KD they'll be fine If they trade KD. You'd have to presume he'd only be traded to us or for pieces that will keep them atleast in the playin No way they bottom out like they did in the 2010s
LOL stop pretending like it matters if its pick no 2, 3 or 15 or even pick no 30 as a rockets fans you should know better! LOL some of you really watching nba too much so you cant see forest for the trees rather do some thinking and put 2 on 2
Durant is also 34 and hasn't played 60 games in a season since 2018-19. They can't just bank on him to be a one-man show, assuming he even stays in Brooklyn after their core imploded. They may not fully bottom out, but they're not contenders either. Yesterday was a good day for those picks.
I hope they trade Durant for a bunch of picks and suck for 4 years like what we did for trading Harden.
Going to be interesting to see if the Nets can package up these picks to go after guys like Derozan, FVV, Anunoby, etc.
Those who wanna trade our young players and picks for KD are insane. Why do that for a player that’s now injury prone and will be 35 this year. Just can’t believe some are that desperate. If we’re gonna trade for a star, it needs to be for someone who is younger, like the 22-28 range. Look at the clippers! Can’t get those fools on the floor
Any chance of Harden convincing Durant to team-up in Houston? What would you give up to Brooklyn to get KD here?
In the absolutely strange occurence that was on the table whatever combination they wanted of KPJ, JC, Garuba, Smith, TyTy, Gordon (salary,) Mathews, Nix (lol) and a couple of picks. It'd be stupid to give them our entire future for a couple of players exiting their prime. But if they'd go for the lesser assets we have whilst allowing us to keep Sengun and Green and we get a legit top tier PG like Beard to run the offense then I'd do it. Both Sengun and Green would get infinitely better looks and it'd take most of the pressure from them to overperform despite only a couple years in the league.
