That is the quintessential topic/question of this thread!!! John Wall's a 19 year old freshman in college and already does everything Brooks does at 25 years of age, minus the 3balls plus some height/size. Threes can be worked on, but height can't. And height is important for a PG to see the entirety of the floor in order to make the right decision with the ball, and many occasions Brooks just didn't seem to be able to see where everyone on the floor was. All in all, Wall's definitely got much much higher ceiling than AB. If we get John Wall we won't have to worry about the PG position for 10, 12 years down the road.
Good point. If only Tiny Archibald, John Stockton, Bob Cousy, and Isiah Thomas weren't so short maybe their court vision would have been better and he wouldn't have been such a terrible passers. Too bad they were so short, they just couldn't see where everyone on the floor was!
no chance unless we land the #1 pick. imo, the only team that might not take him might be Utah.. but they would want Evan Turner. So they might trade down to #2..that's about it.
Doubt we get Wall even if another team with a great pg wins the lotto. Our best chance might might might be New Orleans but kind of doubt it with the new ownership. I was kind of hoping Utah would have imploded and might have considered moving Deron Williams, he wasn't very happy with the organization after letting Brewer go, but now that they've made a run I'd assume all is good.
Let me get this straight- you are suggesting that we have a shot at J. Wall because the teams you listed are set as far as Gs go; so, you suggest we trade up with a package revolving around Aaron Brooks, our PG?
John Wall??????........Houston??????...............I don't think so. On the what if though, doesn't Wall wear #11......hmmm, who else wears that number on the Rockets. Who shall rep the 11?
So you're saying other teams will trade for Brooks because wall is starter material while Brooks can come off the bench? You miss the point, why will teams trade a pg like Wall to get Brooks in return when they already have decent pgs in the roster? Teams like Minny won't trade Wall for Brooks and filler...why the hell would they do that? If they want more pieces then they'll trade Flynn/Rubio etc. instead.
If we get Wall or Rubio, I'd be pretty damn pleased. If DM is trying to do this, I am sure we have a shot. I think that, Wall or Rubio, plus a not-quite Bosh such as Boozer, plus a decent MLE signing, would be a pretty good off-season. For all this, giving up Hill, picks, Brooks, Battier or Ariza, plus Jeffries' expiring contract, more or less. I guess we could even pull this off at less cost, now that I think of it.
Then you are suggesting that teams such as Minny and GS would trade Wall, a starter, for AB, a 6th man + fillers? Regardless of the fact they are both PGs? And AB wold be a seriously undersized 2 guard. As a member, you are capable of doing so. Contributing member's are just nice enough to donate money to keep the site running smoothley so to allow poor college students like myself the use of the board.
Because they don't need room for two f****** monsters. And yeah, if Utah wins, they trade down for Turner. Deron Williams and Evan Turner might be the best backcourt next year, should it materialize.
