Is that what happened? The way I remember it, the Grizzlies drafted Francis, and Francis refused to play for them. As a result, they were forced to trade him, and the Rockets' offer was the best one they got. Are you saying that the Rockets traded 3 players for the #2 pick and used that pick to draft Steve Francis?
Just as frustrated with the Rockets performance as anyone, but I just can't bring myself to blame Morey. That said, this is his off-season to prove his value to the organization. He's created the ultimate flexible roster situation. He's got the assets. Now is the time. <Splash> is the only noise I want to hear this summer.
He's been ok to above avg but I think he needs to make a blockbuster soon. I know he's too smart to take a really ugly contract but sometimes you have to to go forward. I'm not sure if he's afraid of those moves or if les is vetoing. One prob I do have with him is he never sells high on our players. They are all starters and damn good roll players so they are a dime a dozen. You gotta trade them when the value is high ex. Tmac, yao, brooks now lowry and parsons. Seriously there are teams that are cheap so use these assets to nab em.
So morey, adelman, and JVG are liars? Then, why wouldn't Les come out and refute what they said? Especially when Morey said it, since he's his current employee.
0-6 with everything on the line. If this doesn't bring drastic measures from Alexander, nothing will. I really could see him fire Morey after this. DM was on the hot seat a year ago.

Wow, the apologists are out in full force: Why u blame Maury? Maury never at fault. He wizard. Other gms no pick up phone cuz they afraid of wizard's sleeve. It's funny how many of these apologists are the same ones that worshiped the "no-stats scrub" on a 24/7 basis...pathetic, absolutely pathetic.
Morey needs to go. This league is all about results. Three straight years of barely missing the playoffs is the worst result one can get as a GM. Three years of the worst records in the NBA would have been better.
The rockets have 3 first round draft picks, plus cap room coming into a season in which many teams will be fiscally responsible. I think that the rockets, if they play their cards right, will certainly be able to reload next year will young talent.
I like Durvasa's take...Morey has one more year on his contract let him finish it out and see where we are.... DD
