Did Stern fire Rick Adelman? Can you blame injuries for burning bridges with just about every player who's left houston? The shifting of blame has gotten pathetic. The fact is daryl morey doesn't have the basketball IQ to build a NBA team. All those analytical stats sound great but have proven non beneficial without a great basketball mind as its core. Other teams may use them, but Morey RELIES on it without fully comprehending the game. Should he be fired? No. He should respectfully step down before the beginning of the season. We need another GM and another coach to run this team moving foward
There's another excuse. Man oh man, these people who make up excuses are as creative as Morey. They are made of the same cloth. I never thought failure would have so much company. Only in Houston, oh in Chicago too during the very very similar mindless worship of Jerry Krause in the years after the dynasty.
is adelman the difference between us being a contender and not? no what key player has left houston through FAs that would have made us a better team ? (do i hear crickets chirping?) even a player like hayes would have signed with us had it not been for stern getting in the way but even with him we would not have been a sig. better team ... artest left via free agency .. who else? help me out buddy since you know exactly what it takes to be a GM in the nba
bc you want a GM who signs nash for over 10 million, gordon / hibbert to max deals, trades for joe johnson??? those have been the big moves so far this year right .. which one do you want your GM to make ...
So you want mediocrity to continue with this organisation apparently..ur a typical morey fan since you're content with what's goin on in the past 3-4 years. Diss Caroll dawson all you want but there were a lot of rocket greats when he was around. Morey brought in a lot of hasbeens and continues his underpaid average players. Losing dragic is the last straw because he was the closest all star this team ever had. And then losing dalembert makes no sense at all seriously.
we have missed the playoffs in a league where more teams make the playoffs than don't for 3 straight seasons now. I don't see our the fruits of Morey's labor here as being what I would call the envy of the league.
We didn't get a single player in free agency (Asik is not yet a guarantee). While simultaneously losing Lee and Dragic. LOL.
Rockets fans want a rebuild instead of being mediocre, Morey finally looks like he's blowing it up, and ClutchFans is mad. How typical. **** y'all.
im not convinced morey is the problem. i keep saying this... but lebron going to miami changed EVERYTHING. the rest of the league is still in a whirlwind trying to compete by clustering stars together. the players, even role players are starting to realize their power... and the agents are leveraging it for all its worth. the rockets, in transition from the yao tmac era, were caught with their pants down. not looking good.
Good. Outside of Howard and Deron, who do you want? I appreciated Morey for going all out for Howard. He failed, but that's b/c Howard only has one team in his mind. Asik's contract is atrocious. I hope the Bulls match. And Lin's contract is atrocious, hopefully he doesn't sign or the Knicks match. Losing Dragic for that asking price was obvious. $8+ mil/yr is too much for a guy who had 2 months of good-great play. Maybe we can now officially tank and have a sense of direction, instead of making moves to stay in the middle of the pack.
Blowing it up means get rid of all the players that cannot make it through a rebuild i.e. everyone over 30 or who will be 30 in two years Not guys that would come out on the other side well seasoned and poised to make a run but I ain't mad . . . At least now we got a direction . .. . Rocket River
