I do. He can still get by on his shot, he is 6'7", but to be a dominant force anymore, I just don't see. all the miles, an achilles tear this age.
the guy is a true warrior best sg in the league over last 6 years great post game. i think he will demonstrate how great his Post Game is this year i wish we could have him mentor Harden like how Hakeem teaches people his moves
kobe could still score in the NBA 19+ppg for 3-4 years, i see him as a ray allen type - gunslinger. kobe's career winning rings is over if he is the main guy on the team. itll be interesting to see how he and his team handle this transition and still stay competitive.
once he is done, lets get him to be a Advisor to our team he can mentor harden and dwight on how to win
Jordan with the Wizards is basically his best-case scenario. Which I would happily take if I were a (non-delusional) Lakers fan.
I agree that his days of being the best palyer on a championship caliber team are over. And I really don't see him taking a backseat to another star, it's just not in his personality. Just throwin it out there . . . just planting a seed. . . when his contract is up I would love for him to be a sixth man type player on our team to pair with Harden and Howard.
IMHO. Do not want anywhere near this team. No way he would play off the bench with Dwight after what took place in laker town.
Seems you are asking(or implying) two different things. Is he done or is he done being a "dominant force"? Dominant force? Probably (but even then I'd hate to count him out). I don't think he's done (just yet).
This is true. The same ego and fire that won Kobe his last two championships could also prevent him from winning any more.
It's funny how the media acts like Kobe is being 'disrespected' for being ranked #25 on the top players list. That's pretty generous for someone coming off a horrible basketball injury at 35+ YO
http://princetonsportsanalytics.com...t-kobe-bryants-nbarank-is-more-than-generous/ Only one player has ever come back from an Achilles Heel injury and continued to perform at a high level, Dominique Wilkins. But even Wilkins had to turn himself into a 3 point shooter, and his defense suffered tremendously. Kobe can't make anymore "surprise" improvements, other than becoming a better off-ball player.
He will still score 20 points a game. He fell off defensively a long time ago and he has been taking a lot of jumpers for quite some time now.
he will be reduced to hitting jumpers and posting up, if he still asks for as many touches as before, his team is doomed. but one more injury hes probably done
