Do you think Harden and Howard will leave as soon as the opportunity comes if the coaching isn't fix

Although it's difficult to agree with anyone who claims to be a sooner fan, in this case I pretty much do. However, Harden has been trying to force the ball inside even though opposing teams are packing the paint. I hope that in the next game he establishes his shot first and THEN attacks a less clogged paint with his superb passing skills.

    Coaches have to coach too.

Taking 6 qtrs to adjust to Blake Griffin (otherwise this is 2-2 right now).
Letting the Clippers get any switch they want and thus any matchup they want.
Letting teams go on large runs without changing a thing.
Every single game having a 4-5 minute stretch where they do not score.

I mean the list goes on here. It's funny how good coaches always have good teams and always have their teams playing well, even in losses.

We don't play well EVEN in wins. How many nights do we win games turning the ball all over the place for instance? That's bad basketball man.

A Popovic team would never perform this badly. A Thibs coached team would never play defense this terribly...and with lesser talent!

What he meant was that Harden and several other Rockets publicly questioned the wisdom of the Hack-a Strategy being used so much in the 1st half in Game 4. They clearly weren't happy McHale utilized it to the degree he did and Harden specifically complained about it taking away his ability to get into any sort of offensive rhythm.

And he wasn't the only one. Right before McHale tried to escape at the end of his postgame press conference last night, a reporter asked him if going to Hack-a-Jordan nonstop affected the Rockets ability to "play downhill" as he wants his team to do. McHale shrugged it off and said no, but it's clear everyone is questioning the incoherence of stopping play every Clippers possession while simultaneously wanting to play at a fast pace offensively.

All I know is I've never heard Harden or any other Rocket player publicly criticize McHale after a game(even if it was indirectly) in the 4 years he's coached this team. Yet half the locker room seemed to be doing it last night. That speaks volumes.

Even us Sooners have our bright moments. Our current roster only has one legitimate player that can create offense for himself and others(Harden). Once that threat is taken away our offense becomes very stagnant. Which has created deficiencies in shooting, transistion offense, and high turnover rates. As you stated teams are overplaying harden, packing the paint, and forcing everyone else on our roster to beat them. It really isn't some master plan that the clippers have created, we just lack the playmaking ability to compete with competent playoff defenses. In my opinion, this offseason our front office needs to address two glaring issues.
    1. Aquire a stretch 4 (LMA, Love, Milsap, Illasova)
    2. Aquire a starting caliber PG that can facilitate the offense and take pressure off of Harden.

If it's the same old next year, Howard will probably bolt. Harden doesn't seem to care. And he's locked up for 3 more years.

Don't know guys, I don't think all of this is on McHale shoulders. I like to pay attention at the "body language" but didn't see any body language in the whole team. They didn't talk together, no reaction at all, they were all passive. I'm pretty sure we'll hear some behind the curtains story sooner than later. I'm the most disappointed man on earth right now so don't get offended but for me they both can leave, because it is pretty clear that the two doesn't work well together. You can't fail that way when on your team you have who is supposed to be the best C and the best G in the league (+ Smith). You can lose of course, but not that way.

Where would they go? If they lose this series, I doubt they will get a higher paying contract elsewhere. And they surely will never be the cornerstones ever again.

Harden and Dwight need to set up half court sets themselves along with the other former champion vets... McHale and his staff are clueless to the extreme.

    Great post i can add

-Terry playing 30 min a game
-Redick lighting up the old man yet he's still being guarded by terry to this day
-NoChange in the starting lineup when its obviously getting torched
-No idea how to minimize the offensive explosion even though we have 2 elite defenders ( i don't care what you say no team should average 33 points a quarter for an entire series) that in itself shows how clueless he is
-Had ariza on barnes when both crawford and paul were in the game LOL

and theres still much more, our Management mustve been drunk off their ass when they decided to resign him

He's the perfect Yes-Man coach Morey desires. I don't think Morey cares and loves the sport of basketball but goes by whims of a proclaimed good player and tries his hardest to sign them... I doubt he knows anything about the Xs & Os of basketball or good team fit.

Its more telling about Hardens unwillingness to admit he is playing like utter crap, he and alot of other people on this board dont realize if Mchale didnt go to the Hack-A-DJ it could have been a 25 point game by halftime. He made the adjustment he needed to make and it worked it kept us close, the players did not hold up their end of the bargain. Im not defending Mchale he needs to develop and NBA offensive system by next year or be gone, but the players have not done anything but jack up wild 3s and turn the ball over with lazy passing.

Breakups are common. You loved someone and then you leave that person for a championship.

Our team could have made history with an undefeated record and making it to the finals

but if we get blown out and sweep in the Finals we would see posts similar to "I CANT STAND THIS TEAM ANYMORE, FIRE MCHALE, HARDEN AND HOWARD CANT LEAD THIS TEAM TO A CHAMPIONSHIP"

50% of posters said they would have been happy with just passing the first round and considering it a success. People never would have thought we would be division champions. Can we bring up that thread with someone asking "What would you consider a successful season"?

People's satisfaction won't ever be met unless they literally have it all. Unless we win a championship we would still hear nothing but b****ing

No they won't leave, we have never had a healthy roster. I don't know why we have so much bad luck with injuries to our team

    I'd disagree on two points.

If that are the case then honestly I think it's warranted to call McHale a liability that, if replaced with one of a handful of coaches, a championship would be won.

Problem is there's literally only a handful of top-level basketball coaches.

Second point: it's the effort. If these were close games, yeah there'd still be a ton of bitterness toward McHale. But the more rational reason of "LA is just the better team" would've prevailed.

They're just not 30 points better than the Rockets. That's why there's meltdown and disgust.

Personally I'd just rather get the season over with tomorrow rather than being **** teased into a game 6/7 40-point blowout, which just seems inevitable.

Eh. I'd bet this Clippers team would be the 2nd best offensive team in that summer tourney, behind the U.S. squad. Harden is struggling, but I think at least some of the problem is in our switch on everything defense.
