Aside from his egotistical tendencies that affect his play, microfracture surgery is not a permanent fix. Seems like a risk that isn't worth taking for the package Clutch described. I think the question is moot because I don't think he's coming here. It's probably dead since Clutch went into who might be included in the deal.
If Carl Landry and Scola can play along-side Yao why can't Amare? He is WAY more explosive than both and can shoot the ball as well; not to mention he's a taller and longer player than both. He can hit those open shots that Carl and Scola get when the ball gets kicked around too them, can cut to the basket when Yao is double for an easy dunk, and also has a great post game! I say YES! Why wouldn't you want possibly the best scoring PF in the game now on your team?
Are you serious? I thought i was a Rockets homer but even I never have said "CROWN and SCOLA" was the best PowerFoward
Artest is not going to re-sign. Since, we need to trade him, this would be by far the best deal to be had. Amare is only 26, and is a superstar. If we have a chance for a superstar, we have to grab it. Even if it doesn't work out, we have an even bigger trade piece for next year. Landry is 25, Amare is 26. So, we're not really giving up a "young" player besides Brooks. Landry has nowhere near the potential of Amare. Scola would thrive off the bench. Amare could fill in at Center when Yao is resting. Amare is a perfect fit.
Absolutely right! I don't know why people here would rather see Kirk ****ing Hinrich here and Amare. It's just stupid.
THANK YOU! What is everyones deal with the trade. Do you think we will have a better chance with a Landy/Brooks future or a Yao/Amare future, there should be NO QUESTIONS! And which gives us a better chance in the playoffs this year?
If we have a chance at Amare we should take it...as someone said if it doesn't work out we'll have a huge trade piece next season. But he can fit, defensively though...both of these guys have problems defending as tall as Yao is and all the hops Amare has which is kinda sad.
Just to let u guys know..Amare doesn't have a post game, he's more of a spot up mid range shooter and slasher, he's not good with his back to the basket he has to face up and beat u with quickness. But with Adelmans offense it could work..
we already have one back to the basket player in yao. Who by the way is an excellent passer. when they bring the double team on him he will be able to find Amare for easy slams.
Look how many double digit rebound games scola has had this year. Carl Landry is a bargain at $3M/year for the next 2 seasons after this. We're paying $6M total for more production than Amare, this is ridic. We need to keep ron and dumb battier, brooks, luther for a good pg to put alston to the bench, Trading alston is a pipe dream.
amare gots most of his points off pick and rolls with steve nash. if we can get rafer to be like nash...wait nvm, like thats gonna happen.
Amare won't fit. He wants to be the big man, the go to guy, the main dude whom everyone run their offense from. Suns have ShaQ and Houston have Yao, doesn't match.
I would be curious to see what type of numbers Amare could put up when the opposing team's entire defensive plan was to stop him and only him. They wouldn't look like anything close to Dream's and the team would not be near as good.
No no no, say THANKS to Amare... 1) He won't like being a 3rd option on this team 2) He doesn't play defense 3) Our power forward are ok, and that is the only thing we should worry about 4) he is gonna kill our chemistry
So let me get this straight, what your trying to say is..... 1)He is going to be the 3rd option behind Yao and Wafer(i know ur not talkin about Tslack lol 2)He will fit into our newly aquired defensive scheme 3)a Scola/Landry PF combo plays as well as a Scola/STAT combo...??? 4)Our impeccable "Chemistry" is not already "dead"
Because he isn't as good as Olajuwon... that's simple. I merely said he "reminded" me of a young Hakeem, and I think he has the athletic ability and dexterity to develop a game similiar to his... however, he needs to have far more hard work and determination. And lets remember that a young/raw Akeem benefitted greatly by having Sampson there to deflect the low-post attention. Once his game started coming together, and he started having more trust in his teammates, he became unstoppable.
