I like pretty much everything, so I let whoever else is in the car choose.

People who have to control the music in other peoples' cars irritate me to no end. My buddies are all music connoisseurs, always wanting to show me new bands and such, and even though I have a very eclectic music taste and would love to hear this hypothetical new band, for some reason I feel like it's disrespectful to commandeer car audio control like that. It's not like I'm going to refuse to listen to it, or even that I don't want to listen to it. It's sort of a principle thing I guess. If you really just have to let me know about this great new artist, let me know while I'm at a computer so I can download it and give it the full listen.

Last night, I drove to Austin with my girlfriend and her younger sister to Austin for them to see Mates of State (I didn't go), and after maybe 5 minutes I notice that sister has very sneakily replaced my ipod with hers. We listen to Mates of State the whole way, which was on my ipod to begin with and she spends the whole time spouting off random facts about the band. It's not like they weren't going to get enough MoS that night. [/rant]

My wife and I like the same kind of music ('60's/'70's classic rock, psychedelic rock, blues, some more blues, some rock from the '50's, some Sinatra, etc., folk rock, progressive rock, jazz/rock fusion, folk music, some jazz), but I just have a far wider range of stuff that I like than she does. At night, we like to play music from all those genres that have a good rhythmic beat. I'm sure everyone can guess why.

Raphael Saadiq used to be part of toni toni tone, he makes music similar to D'Angelo accept more musical/better. The two groups you called crap i really like their music, Timberlake is another story. It doesn't bother me that you hate them, that's just your opinion. I probably think the stuff you listen to sucks.

...As long as you don't diss Prince and MJ i'm good...

Nope, she listens to whatever I listen to. I make her like whatever I like, if she doesn't.. I beat her into liking it. Jk.

But really, she does like whatever I like.

    I don't worry about this.

My bf can change the radio all he wants and I wouldn't care! ;)

Ditto. It's much harder to please my passengers than it is to satisfy my musical tastes... That, and I don't need to be messing with the radio, changing CDs, etc while I'm driving. I generally ask the passenger to do that for me, so they get to pick.

Just cause they're a little (okay alot) fruity doesn't make me gay for listenin' to them. I thought i was the only black man who liked them until i heard those songs from Swizzbeats and Kanye where they bit Coldplay songs.

Heck, grown men used to go to Prince concerts in which he proceeded to prance around in assless chaps that doesn't mean he didn't make good music.
