What exactly did they lose? If you are ready to go blow yourself up or live in a cave fighting a r****ded jihad you have nothing to lose. They did get their goal. Countries in the middle east are more destabilized. The number of terrorist attacks has sky rocketed.
From that perspective, yes they didn’t lose much, but they certainly didn’t win. They have two primary goals. Drive the US and her allies out of Saudi Arabia and the region. Drive government in that region toward their extreme version of Islam. # of terroist acts isn’t a goal, but a mean to achieve their goals. The US and her allies immediately got more involved, not less in the region. Saudi Arabia is still a strong strategic allies to the US. Afghanistan has relatively become less extremist with the taliban losing power. Iraq may have become more religious, but is more in the mold of Iran / Saudi Arabia than the taliban. The region has become more destabilized, but it’s fighting back the extreme version of Islam that al qaeda wanted to spread. Longer term, maybe they will accomplish the goal of the US getting out as the western public grew against being tied to that region (unlikely with oil and Israel interest). But I see little chance their extremist view will spread. Status quo is more likely. And again, they have been decimated.
The funny thing is when Ocasio won I expected to hear "OMG SOCIALIST ELECTED!" I guess it wasn't until Hannity ran his segment on her and then all the conservatives even used the same buzzwords to describe her. UNHINGED! That's a word I'm seeing being thrown around by the right a lot recently.
The "abolish ICE" protest in NY received some coverage today. https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/loc...abolish-ice-july-4-park-police-487338651.html
I live in NY, people aren't saying abolish immigration law and enforcement, just these draconian practices that target families and not criminals.
So is the argument that people should get away with breaking the law if they have pregnant wives on the way to the hospital to have a scheduled c section?
Only if it is a small petty crime like murder or something and they can use it to make Law Enforcement look bad.
No. It's about basic moral and decency. Since you didn't mention the homicide here, I take it that you only read the tweet. As for the other remarks from the other poster ---> http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...-american-people.280663/page-37#post-11933474
LOL, that's an adorable take. So you are sticking by the idea that the "decent and moral" thing to do is let a wanted murderer go free because he's taking his wife to the hospital for a planned operation? Well, thankfully you aren't in any position to make these kinds of calls I guess.
I see that you have changed from simply breaking the law to now he's a murderer. This is why ICE can simply lie.
Simply him breaking the law is justification for detaining him, the fact that he's a wanted murderer just makes it even funnier that you are freaking out about it. That and your Alex Jones level conspiracy theories about ICE just making it all up because you looked ridiculous.
ICE lies often, just like Trump. ICE claimed a Dreamer was “gang-affiliated” and tried to deport him. A federal judge ruled that ICE was lying.
ICE lies often, just like Trump. Watch: former ICE spokesperson says he was asked to “flat-out lie” James Schwab, a former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) spokesperson, has spoken out for the first time since resigning in March. In an interview with CBS This Morning on Thursday, Schwab said he was “instructed by superiors in Washington ... [to] flat-out lie.”
ICE lies often, just like Trump. An ICE attorney forged a document to deport an immigrant. ICE didn’t care until the immigrant sued.
