That's spin. You still can't get past the fact that the moderates in the Democratic party wouldn't support it because it was seen as radical. They had to be bribed in order to get it to pass even with full control in both bodies of congress.

Also, that poll is from 2017, like I said, those on the left have moved further to the left and what was the extreme before Obama took office is more mainstream today.

Even ignoring the universal healthcare nonsense, Obama was anti-business, anti-cop, pro illegal immigration, anti-military, and was one of the most fiscally irresponsible presidents this country has ever seen until the Republicans took back control of Congress and forced him to stop running trillion+ dollar deficits every year. If he sold himself as that from the start, he'd have had no chance of election. He hid most of those things until he had softly moved the country left enough.

An example of a moderate Democrat is Joe Manchin....at one point there were several moderate Democrats, but they've nearly become extinct as the party has been dragged to what was once the fringe left.

Getting things passed in politics is all about some kind of bribery, so not sure what you are on about. If it's not actual money then its "You agree with this and I can support your cause on this..." Not sure why you think the GOP operates any differently.

    Can you find contradicting data?

More vague buzz words and not actual policy. I want to discuss Obama's actual policy and not the propaganda you've been told about him.

Should have seen that one coming. So the Democrat that constantly votes with the GOP is the 'Moderate' model Democrat for you. Not surprised, you think moderate liberals are actually conservatives.

I'm not sure I can follow. I think it's ironic as well that you are the main one telling liberals "You are the reason we have Trump..." when you do the same thing. You call every single liberal extreme unless they are Manchin who is a Democrat but no liberal. People like this have taught many liberals that it doesn't matter if we are moderate or not, so F it. Free Healthcare, Democratic Socialist, doesn't matter.

So Ocasio is what you're going to get now and her message of free healthcare, abolishing for profit prisons, raising minimum wage is one that's going to be very popular in the coming years. You're going to look back fondly on Obama.

Lol. Which party has pushed for loose labor laws and has fought against minimum wage? Which party controls the 3 branches of government but can’t compromise?

Last time I checked Texas legislations could tighten labor laws and be apart of e verify....

Now which party is using illegal immigration a wedge issue and doesn’t seem to be wanting to fix it?

Used to think this way for extreme candidates, but now I'm not so sure and I have a new and different viewpoint. The GOP has moved so far to the right that I think a credible "extreme" left is needed and necessary to balance and pull the country to the center. Since we only have two political party, it seems to be the only viable way to balance and cancel out each of the most extreme sides.

There is also the new energy that is so necessary for election win for such routine low voter turnout. We have seen it with the TEA and now the Trump movement within the GOP. The DEM doesn't have any new energy and in fact lost quite a bit after Obama. They badly need new non-traditional DEM (corporate DEM) to win. Trump is so horrible, that reaction to him might do it for the short term, but longer term, you need new ideas and new energy. They also need to overcome the many roadblocks that GOP elected officials have put up over the years to depress turnout on the left, and again, new energy is a good bet to do that.

BTW, other than the socialist lable, what is so extreme about her? She articular well (without using extremist languages) and here is what she is fighting for.

This sounds like something that Don-Sean Trumpity made up for the base.

Get rid of ICE? Come on, now.

EDIT: Ah, I see the flyer thingy. No, that won't happen anyway.

Was it an official flyer from her campaign? Let's not pretend we all have the same viewpoint.

I am pleasantly surprised by the poll results.

She is vocal about it and some others have championed it as well.

Yeah, I am just now seeing the headlines on this.

The Democrats need to be careful. You don't abolish ICE. Maybe review or change some procedures, but abolish? I don't know if it plays.

Well being the world police is expensive.... can’t be the world’s police and invest in ourselves.

I’m more worried about Medicare and SSN, those boomers are going to be surprised sooner than later.

We just gave how many trillions to the top forever? If we are going to do that, I much prefer it to go to much more people than a few %.

More than a dozen ICE agents call to dissolve agency

Not that I agree with dissolving the agency even when it has a bad rep...I think they should do work to preserve our borders rather than going through a checklist and rounding up children or whatever bizarro circus act our POS ***** out.

Much like Reagan's "tough on crime" drug wars in the 80s (that HW and Clinton continued), it ended up being a votes-driven punitive expedition on the "super predators" who were mostly non-violent users rather than dealers and ended up stealing resources, attention, and morale away from law enforcement's more important roles and responsibilities.

Do you still believe that all tax breaks pay for themselves?

It works both ways. Just need the right words to tug at the right people.

No, I do not believe they pay for themselves.

I dont make enough where I can invest money to the point where my tax bill is reduced and I make way more to participate in the freebie give away offered by the socialist.

If everyone else are getting breaks and freebies, I'll be happy participate in the tax cut. The middle class is constantly getting bashed by both sides of the political spectrum.

If you feel my tax breaks should go away, then tax the upper class more (or better yet take away their tax shelters) and start cutting back on the welfare freebies.

I am all in favor of cutting wasteful spending, especially if there are folks getting welfare that shouldn't. And I also think the really wealthy shouldn't get as big of a tax cut (and should get taxed more) so that folks in the middle can get more of a tax break.

I'm genuinely interested in how you think the Democrats bash the middle class. Minorities and privileged classes can also take part in the middle class.

Never said that? Liberal Messiah Obama had tax breaks for the middle class, so I guess it can't be that bad!

Pretty sure Trump has attacked the former (i.e. Obama era) FBI and Justice Dept leadership ONLY...(you know the ones that showed their absolute BIAS against him for years now)... while at the same time consistently praising the work of the rank and file FBI agents.

How do I feel about that? Doesn't bother me in the slightest since they are all now gone.
