It was ridiculous. I didn’t see it live, but I remember hitting refresh on the game cast after stepping away from my computer assuming game was a lost cause and then couldn’t understand how it said we won.

It also lead us to always hold out hope that Tmac was going to push through and get over that first round hump; and my what a disappointment that was.

I still can’t understand how there are die hard Houston Rockets fans that still back Tmac.

It was a great memory. I was 17 then. But it's old news. It's almost 2019 and this team sucks.

"care about", is to broad a question.

Who really cares about anything in the past? Something you can't change and something that has no immediate effect on your today...

But does it still reside as a fond memory to me as fan of A) Basketball? YES B) The NBA? YES C) The Rockets? HELL YES.

You can show images of the tip block of John Starks in Games 7, The kiss of death in Phoenix, Sam Cassell's (big ball) swagger dance... those moments were all part of huge playoff victories... But as you step away from those the 13 is 33 is a big part of not only Rockets history, it is a big part of NBA history PERIOD.

Do I care, prolly not. It doesn't shape anything in my life to offer it that much of a spot in it... but it is still a great memory to look back on... even not being there in person but just watching it live on TNT that night and thinking, "wait, did that just happen!?!?!" So many things had to happen for that to happen and it did. We won. And TMac for all of his later let downs, came up big as a Rocket that day.

I watched it live, think it was a cool sports moment, but it is not on par with championships or anything.

It is more like Earl Campbell's 81 yard run to seal the deal against Miami his rookie year.

    Cool, yes.....legendary, sure.....meaningful - nope.

Crazy how time goes by. I was watching it live at my college apartment in Minnesota. That was one of the few times I could see Rockets games as it was on TNT that night and my cable provider didn't have NBA league pass. I couldn't believe it and it was one of my favorite moments in Rocket history. I was here on Clutchfans under my original username which has since been forgotten. This place was insane

Hard to believe its been that long. That year the team turned into a fun, memorable team as the season went on, but in typical Rockets fashion it went out with a whimper.

Means nothing without the ring that year.

Just go ask the 73 win Warriors, most of them treat that season as a nightmare after the finals loss.

It is a fun thing to rewatch once a year. Why in the world does the team in 2019 affect this?

It was sweet when it happened but the refs would never allow those type of shenanigans in this day and age. Pretty sure they’d wave off a bucket or two................

I'd care more about it if T-mac didn't act all salty towards the Rockets on ESPN.

People forget that we were suppose to lose that game cause our offense sucked for pretty much the entire game
    Jeff Van Gundy offense

That’s why we were desperately jacking up threes

    Nope

That moment was like an oasis in a five year long drought of fail and bad luck.

I watched the replay on that probably like 20 times since it happened.

It was the most thrilling end to a regular season NBA game that I can remember. So, yeah, I think we should continue to remember it and enjoy it.
