I cannot believe that there actually are people who like Bill Walton. This guy talks like he could get out there and outplay Duncan, Shaq, Kobe, formerly Hakeem and Charles. Bill Walton plays favorites with everybody and CONSTANTLY contradicts himself on national tv. He is conceited and would not work well with any player in the NBA today, yesterday, and definitely not tomorrow. Bill Walton must go

You didn't actually take that seriously did you? I expected to get torn up for that joke and thought it was pretty obvious that it was one. :p

I like Rudy as a person who getting along with his players. But I agreed that Rudy is good for coaching a veterans team and not all this hard head players that Houston currently have. If management is going to keep these players around then I see Houston is better off with a disciplinary coach who can also teach these players how to play fundamental basketball.

I am of the opinion that Rudy Tomjanovich should drastically change the way plays are run for the team.

Yes, the Rockets did win two championships using the post-game of Hakeem Olajuwon with three-point shooters waiting on the wings.

But that tactic is widely known now in the league. Winning an NBA championship is like a play. The first time around its novel, and people rave about it. Then the second time around people notice it. Third time around people get bored because its predictable.

The Rockets offense shouldn't hinge on the formula of the 93-94 and 94-95 seasons because the players are different, and the tactic is already known to other coaches.

Unless Rudy Tomjanovich is willing to change his style of coaching, then I'm of the opinion that he should be replaced.

For a while, I though, blame should go the players. But there's so much talent in players like Steve Francis. I think Scottie Pippen was right in being frustrated here in Houston.

Rudy is a top-notch coach, but he's been awfully slow in adjusting his offense to fit the styles of Francis and Yao. Isolation plays work in moderation, but you can't build an entire offense around them.

That said, last year was a tough one for Rudy (health issues, incorporating an inexperienced Yao into the offense, etc.), and deserves the benefit of the doubt. If we miss the playoffs next year (gawd forbid), it'll be time for a change. Until then, Rudy's got my support.

you got my vote for a need for better assistant coaches.........i feel that we should go get an experienced nba assistant who has valuable experience especially with dealing with younger athletes especially todays younger athletes with their LARGE PAYCHECKS.....i think we should get an offensive specialist who believes in utilizing FUNDAMENTAL BBALL......look at sacramento, they had a record setting season last year when like a huge percentage of their shots were either layups and dunks. I think that had alot to do with the hiring of pete carill, the former PRINCETON coach. they had alot of backdoor passes with alot of slashing. Rudy is still my coach but i think we need an upgrade on the assistant coaching.

    No.

With all of the new players the Rockets are going to bring in next year, its going to take a full season for Rudy to get these guys to play together. Rudy has trouble incorporating new players into his system. Just look at Barkley, Pippen, Yao, Posey. All of these guys eventually just turned into iso iso players under Rudy's system.

So if the Rockets get rid of Cat, Moochie, Tayor, Rice or whoever, we are just going to have 5 more players who Rudy won't have any clue what to do with.

Remember everytime the Rockets brought in a major player either via a trade or free agency, Rudy said that he was so excited about the upcoming season and all of the new "plays" that he could run? Whatever happened to those new plays and how come all we ever saw was iso, iso?

No need to wait till then..here in San Antonio we have a bunch of "Fire POP" threads left over from a few months ago...Haven't heard from the guys who originated them lately.. so I dont think they will mind if you use them...As long as it doesn't bother you that they didn't know what they were talking about either.
