Remember the news anchor Peter Jennings? The guy quit smoking for many years and, then when 9/11 happened, he bought a pack of smokes and smoked under the stress of it all. The next thing you know...he has lung cancer and didn't live very long after that. I think it was that pack of cigs on 9/11 that did him in. Might want to think about that if you ever decide to pick up a cig after many years on the wagon.
I'm not going to say that smoking isn't bad for you, but don't you think you might be jumping to conclusions (cue Office Space related posts)? There is no way in the world to make that judgment. Many people who don't smoke also get lung cancer. You simply can't attribute it to a point in time.
it was at that very moment that I realized leroy420 had been right. Smoking may be harmful for me, but it wasn't like this one pack of cigs would do me in. or would it? hmmmmm.
I only smoke when I go out drinking, usually during the weekends. So I would say I smoke like 2 cigaretts in a week. I don't know if that warrants that I'm a smoker thought, but I voted yes.
I've never smoked anything in my life AND I went to UT!!! I'm nearly 29 and never plan on smoking anything either. Just never intrigued me and didn't want to get hooked on such a nasty habit.
I smoked a cigarette butt at a friend's house after school when I was 11. We just grabbed a couple of out his mom's ash tray. We didn't even have a lighter and had to start it up on the stove. Didn't even inhale. That was the only time.
Never did, never will, despite having friends and family members who do. Just doesn't appeal to me on any level. But to each his own- I won't give anyone grief about it unless it's someone I have to live with.
It's one hell of a coincidence if it's not related. Just as I can't say that his relapse had something to do with it...you can't say it had nothing to do with it. So, there.
smoked at least a pack day for 10+ years. quit cold turkey about 2 years ago. I refuse to even take a puff ever again. No nicotine = no smoking. I know if I smoke one, I might as well buy a carton. Its nice not being controlled by that habit
Only 13% of lung cancer cases are non-smoking related. Exposure to radon, asbestos, and other carcinogens contribute to most most of that remaining 13%. Lung cancer was rare, even until 1912, where only 374 cases had been reported. In other words, lung cancer rarely happens naturally. it most likely came from exposure to a carcinogen. You can pretty much attribute Peter Jennings' lung cancer to cigarettes in general. His final hoorah with cigarettes wasn't necessarily the nail in the coffin http://www.smokinglungs.com/cighist.htmhttp://www.smokinglungs.com/cighist.htm http://www.lungusa.org/site/pp.asp?c=dvLUK9O0E&b=35427
22.37% right now, your statistics are good i dont smoke btw, tried 1 one cig as a little teenage, forcing myself to like it, but i was too much of a wimp to not cough
I smoke when I drink. The problem is lately I drink about 5 days a week. I'm hoping to cut back on that, but damn it's tough. Going out to eat and having a drink is pretty much my favorite thing to do.
did your brother take after you in this regard? it's nice to see you quit smoking. i'm not sure how you did it because you were always beer in one hand and smoke in the other. lol
he quit as well but he probably still cheats. I had no problem drinking after I quit, in fact, I drank more to make up for the loss. I just decided it was time to quit and my wife advertised it to everyone, so that made it a challenge.
Did your wife smoke when y'all started dating? Ican't imagine dating someone who smoked it's the first thing I ask and thinking about it I really never see a couple where one smokes and the other does not.
she would only smoke when she was drinking. she never was addicted to them. I guess I am a weirdo and still enjoy the smell of cigarettes.
