Do you refrigerate your butter?

  1. Yes, of course! It's a dairy product.

Right, which is why his description of "really low quality meat that is processed in mostly unsanitary (mmm...feces) plants" is completely accurate.

    Don't have a taco bell take, ...

... but butter-wise, we keep one half stick out (in a covered butter dish) at all times. Then we store a few sticks of salted and unsalted in the fridge.

The point is, when you toast some bread, you need some luscious, room-temp, perfect butter to spread on it. You do NOT need to get a brick hard slab from the fridge and bludgeon your gorgeous toast with it.

Margerine in the fridge. Haven't used butter in years.

Ketchup in the fridge. I'd toss it if I could...but the kiddies like it.

And...Bread in the fridge. Don't know why. The wife keeps it there and I've learned not to question her logic.

My parents do that - I don't. So far, I haven't figured out what the difference is. I don't typically keep food long enough to find out.

When my wife first moved in with me, she tried to put the peanut butter in the fridge. I put an end to that very quickly...

    Butter - yes
    Ketchup - no

My chocolate syrup bottle says to "refrigerate after opening" but I don't.

My wife refridgerates the peanut butter too! Makes it impossible to spread.

    We have a big fridge.

I noticed that some friend's parents that are from the UK kept their butter out. It got a gross yellow on the outside.

Tried that but how do you spread it when you want PB&J? I ended it very quickly as well.

You are goofy. Yeah, all of those places use inferior quality meat processed in plants with minimal standards. Numerous books and articles and "tv journalism" shows have covered this.

I know you have no standards for food but don't act like fast food is good quality.

i use butter and not margarine. i leave it out because it's easier to spread when it's softer, though if i know i won't be using it for a few days i will put it in the fridge. and like JV, during the summer months, i'll store it in the fridge since it's generally warmer in the apartment.

i keep my ketchup in the fridge.

    Read below.

I use one of these. If you change the water in it every few days, then the butter keeps fine. ...and it's much easier to spread when you are ready. Then you don't have to worry about it turning "gross yellow." ;)

For the most part we refrigerate. We have this butter bell thing my wife puts out at special occasions. Butter is supposed to last quite a while in them.

FDA also says you have to pasturize cheese. America is the only country on earth that pasturizes cheese. If unpasturized cheese was so bad, there'd be a lot of dead Europeans. ;)

That's why I always use "Bet Your Ass it isn't Butter!" as an alternative. It always spreads smoooooooth.
