I'm not ruling out a possible series win against Dallas. While they may be the best team in the regular season, they've been falling. And also, their mock defense is sure to collapse a few times. It may not be realisic, but hey, it's possible. Denver/Seattle anyone?
What kind of stupid question is that? Of course we want to make the playoffs. What difference does it make if we stand a chance against the Mavs? We still want to play better regardless. (By the way, I'm thinking the Spurs are going to end up being the #1 seed)
Nice logic...but according to your logic. Why should there be any playoffs at all for the east? I mean...does any team in the east really stand a chance against any of the western teams? Even the western teams that aren't making the playoffs have winning records against the east.
Of course I want the Rockets to get in the playoffs. We can throw an upset. We may spend the extra game for post-season experience. Show where we stand at. Learn from the mistakes from the top contenders.

I remember after the Rockets devestating 7 game loss to the sonics in 93 (we would have gone on to beat the suns AND bulls IMHO) Hakeem staying positive in the locker room and saying "guys, we go from here". Of course that's exactly what they did. That's what it's all about. Building blocks. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Why would we bother making the play-offs if we were going to get beaten by the Mavs in the 1st round? That's like telling the Sixers to not bother going to the finals because they have no chance against the Lakers.....
damn right we do! i would/will b**** & moan if/when we get eliminated early in the first round (hopefully we'd win 2 games against dallas). but it will be half as loud as i would be b****ing if we didn't make the playoffs especially with no 1st round draft pick this year
bring back the edit feature! i can think of a plus side to the rox not making the playoffs - we wouldn't have to see the PJs ever again after the end of the month.
