As the Chinese sayings go "It's never too tiring to watch other people carry the load". So unless I have been in their shoes, I wouldn't claim that I know better or could do better.
Coachs are typically rated by decisions made by the GM (player personnel) that the coach shouldn't be rated on. The big decisions (player personnel) attributed to the GM are influenced greatly by the owner and coach. This situation is similar in the corporate world. A manager evaluates some deal for weeks, determines the most cost effective way to initiate some program and his boss at the last second decides he likes another program some salesman sold him on yesterday. The successful GM (and the ones I'm not better than) typically is a guy like West that is allowed to make his own decisions. The other 90% I'm certain MANY of us can outperform. Coachs and GMs surely have many tasks that we don't see or hear about. But these routine tasks are probably no different than managers in other businesses perform. For these tasks there are many fans on this board that could handle the job.
Hey according to NBA LIVE I can do 10 straight championships better than any other GM or Coach. It's all about motivation and on occasion luck.
If Phil Jackson and Larry Bird can hire two assistants to run the X's and O's, not sure why anyone couldn't do it. But seriously, I'd have to say that GM is a yes and Coach is a no.
i vote know... but damn as opposed to most people responses, i feel much closer to be able to be a coach than GM and would love the challenge
I don't believe I could do either better than those doing it. But I could definitely beat CD and JVG in Scrabble. Triple word score, in yo' face, b****es!
