Do you really think an 8th seed is embarrassing in the West? LOL.

it shouldn't be the goal is my point. we need to blow up this team or completely tank because we are going nowhere the way things stand. this team is clearly a few steps behind the league in terms of talent. we aren't going to acquire top players thru trades. the only game changer we have now is hurt again with no time table for his return. the sands in yao's hourglass are running out. hoping to limp into the playoffs with a below .500 record as the #8 seed isn't gonna do anything for the future. being stuck in the middle sucks.

robbie, this season isn't your season to be a rockets fan then. They won't be anywhere close to tanking or trading anyone because we've got tons of talent on this team...this record we have is not an indication of how good we can be. so when the trade deadline approaches and passes, we will see what the rockets plans have been...until then, you can only bury yourself with millions of ideas on how you think this roster can improve and spend years trying to build around those millions of ideas...or you can just think about winning now.

ok good. and we didn't give up anybody for him except some "imaginary player that we might have had, depending on a lotto pick and if another team didn't grab him first, and hopefully can live up to nba expectations" player...so it was practically free. no need to waste ur time tanking with this team, DM is trying to win now!

lol no this isn't a win now trade. far from it. this kid needs court time and good structure. he isn't going to help us win now, but he should help us win in the future. if we actually tanked this year then we would have a chance at another top pick to go along with this kid.

I feel we still have a chance to be up until 6th seed.

8th seed is definitely up for grabs between us, suns, grizzlies, and blazers. Blazers are holding the 8th seed now, but they are 1 game under .500 and we know they also have health issues. Suns and Grizzlies are about as inconsistent as us.

Hornets who are holding the 7th seed are also sliding down after their really strong start. They only won 3 games in the last 10 now. Nuggets who are holding up the 6th seed, is a wildcard here. Carmelo can get traded between now and deadline day, and their playoff contention will depend on who they get in return.

If we can stay healthy (I know this applies to us every year), gel the team together, T-Will can contribute, make some trades at deadline day, anything still can happen. With many stars going to the east, (Amare, and possibly Carmelo, or maybe even CP3) the West won't be as tough as before where 50 wins were required to get at least 8th spot.

if the rockets get healthy, i think we get the 7th seed and face the lakers in the first round.

    spurs will be 1st seed

Hey if you make it to the playoffs, you make it to the playoffs, nothing else. Who really cares about what seed you are. The fact that you make it to the playoffs is the only thing that matters, it will only be a little hard to win seeing that you would be up against the 1st seed.
