Probably best to start with gin & tonics w/lime or tom collins. Gin has a bitter, piney flavor that for most people is an acquired taste, so it can be tough to drink straight-up if you've never had it before. Seagram's Extra Dry, Beefeaters, and Trader Joe's store brand gin are all decent, cheap options for mixing.
I used to do straight drinks. But I thought it was stupid that girls get to put flavor in their drinks and I'm limited to piss water and bland chemical flavors to "prove a point". So I get any mixed flavored drink I want now with no worry Still it depends on the purpose. If I want something along with food or a meal I'll get something wih flavor. If its about getting drunk I'll go straight drinks to get the effect, not worry about taste. I'm not into drinking though.
If its good stuff like crown, henny, tron etc then straight. But I'm down with the bottom shelf stuff like prestige vodka, kirkland or mid shelf stuff like sailor jerry's mixed with some diet soda. I can usually go through a handle in about 4 or 5 days.
Are we talking about during a Rockets game or just any other time? Because if it's just a casual night out with friends then I'm a Crown and Coke person. But if I'm watching a Rockets game I'm a single malt straight up on the rocks kind of person!
Now someone who can kill a whole mason jar of real moonshine whiskey is a F***ing mans man lol that stuff is heavy
Depends on the drink. Fireball I drink straight up, or with eggnog. Bourbon or whiskey, straight. Vodka I'll drink straight. Gin and tonic, only because I like the taste of it. Rum straight up; although I used to love a good rum and coke before I gave up soda. I can drink tequilla straight up, but only so much of it. I'll usually mix it with vodka or something or down it with a beer. I'm really slim and I only started drinking over the past few months, so it doesn't take much to get me drunk. I stop at that point though. Alcohol is like gambling, it's all about knowing when to stop.
I read this and it made me cringe.
Then I read this and everything made sense. When you're younger and first start drinking, vodka straight is nothing. Over time though it starts tasting like rubbing alcohol straight. This has been the story of countless (myself included) people.
Loool. Yeah, shots didn't used to be that bad. Try doing this if you're ever making the shots at a party. Use a bit of lime juice and just a little sugar in a cocktail mixer and pour the shots from that. As you take the next shot use even less of it. By the third shot you shouldn't need any lime juice.
Vodka = water & lime Tequila = shots or margarita on the rocks Scotch = straight Whiskey = Old Fashioned Gin = mixed
Mixed drink like a boss. You guys can be true men and drink it straight, I'll enjoy my tasty drink through a crazy straw. I want something that tastes good, keep telling yourself whiskey tastes good...that's why you can only take a sip at a time. Margarita, pisco sour, Cuba libre FTW
When I was a young lad, this was my drink of choice as well! I don't know if it still comes in a purple bag or not, but I remember hating throwing the bag away. ....... ....... .......
