    ... my upright bass is looks really intimidating (vaguely like a large football lineman) when it stands watch in a dark corner of my living room at night...

    I actually want to purchase a gun, but I'm too naive to know how to go about it. If anyone gun owners could steer me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. (I live in Houston)

    I don't own a gun and have no interest too. I'm not against others owning them as long as they are responsible.

    As a practitioner I like to trust in my own ability to fight off an attacker rather than a gun. Anyway I don't have to lock or reload myself or be taken away by an attacker and used against myself.
    ;)

    I do own a practice spear and practice swords which aren't much good for fighting but look pretty cool. I've gone hunting before with guns but if I ever hunt again I would like to try it with a bow or spear.

    Why would you expect mostly gun owners? I thought it was clear from the general tenor of the board that we wouldn't have many guns. Though, it does seem the gun-owners own enough to cover those who don't have any.

    On second thought, maybe it's a good thing most people here don't have guns...

    yeah, It's illegal for me to wear long sleeved shirts because it would be concealing deadly weapons.

    Well I don't really own this gun, but I use it everyday when I'm playing CS. I really play that game entirely too much.

    Yep....you play? I'm almost always on the same server....I think it's called Texas Massacre 1.6 or something along those lines...Extremely low ping.
