I miss his crazy antics. The dude was a walking entertainment machine/basketball player. I think Yao and him were quite a likable pairing (although basketball-wise it would've gotten nowhere).
I must admit personality wise he seemed pretty cool but he would be bad for our chemistry I believe. But a great help defensively. That doesnt override the chemistry issue
Great personality...one of the best ones in the NBA On the team, yes and no. I would want him in there, if there was superstar out there (T-Mac and Yao) to sort of keep him from going hog wild with 3s. No on this current team...
we really need to show our respect and apreciation to ron for his great effort and huslt play.without him,we can't passsssssss the 1st round playoff against blazers.his joining to this team totally changed the temperament and add more toughness to us.
Ron Artest on LeBron James: "LeBron is playin at about 265... I'm about the same... It won't be a difficult task for me to guard LeBron at all. He just reminds me of a new and improved Ron Artest." Miss Ron. Was a funny dude. Got to meet him actually over the summer just before he signed with LA (on Hollywood BLVD). I knew he was going to sign there because he was still hanging out in LA.
wow. i actually agree with true beaner... hell mustve frozen over. i would rather have ron jacking up shots than ariza. besides i think if coach adelman told him that AB was our go to guy; he would listen and jack up fewer shots. the guy respected RA.
The fact is that Ron is a nut job, and when he feels he is the best player on the team, he screws things up. On this team, he would be a disaster......... Chemistry is a balance people, and Ron without a true leader to keep him in check is a chemistry disaster. DD
My most vivid memory of Ron, which I miss the most, is when he hounded Lebron from one end of the court to the other at the end of a regular season game that was already won by the Cavaliers. It was one of the most poorly officiated games in recent Rockets memory. Yao was hampered by terrible offensive fouls, all of which were flops by Varejao and Wallace. Ron, fully knowing that the game was all but over, still played tenacious D on Lebron and checked him throughout the waning seconds of the game. It was beautiful. It was at that instant that Ron won me over.
yeah there was so many great moments with Ron last year and so far not a vey good impression with Ariza.
NO. He's a child. I dont' dislike him, but I don't think there's too much going on upstairs. He's got "REALITY TV" written all over him.
Who was the leader that held ron in check last year? I would still love to have ROn on this team. He was the best outsider shooter we had last season and his on court toughness rubbed off on everyone else.
After the Greatest Game for a Rocket Fan this decade. To be honest, I do miss him both on and off the court. His shot selection may have been hard to take sometimes, but at least he was physical on defense and sometimes on offense. When he set his mind to attacking the basket, nobody could stop him (eg: early last season vs Jazz in overtime). He also works extremely hard, and doesn't as frustrated as Ariza when he's having an off night. Also him and Battier made one of the best defensive duo's in the league.
