God, didn't you have another horrible thread a week ago? You're either extremely out of touch with the Rockets or you're a plain idiot. Actually, you could be both.
Thanks for stating the obivious. When Brooks and Lowry have 3 turnovers in total, I doubt Rafer would have done anything better. You think Rafer could have gotten those defensive boards?
No, I don't miss Rafer. I wish him the best with the Magic but I don't miss him at all. Lowry is 10x the player Rafer was.
I would sure like to know if the Orlando Magic could beat the Lakers with Rafer being their starting PG. Unfortunately, those two teams already played their two against each other, so we'll never know unless they both reach the NBA finals. The Orlando Magic swept both of the games against the Lakers this season, but that was with Jameer Nelson leading the way in both games. As for the Rockets' game last night, I think the only thing the team missed about Rafer was his defense, but that's all. Most everyone on this board will never miss his bricklaying.
if magic face piston in first round of playoff, i think magic have little chance to pass first round.
AB should play with bench player,he is fast but he just dont know how to pass, and Lowry passes well.........
I'll tell you this, Aaron Brooks cannot pass. Sure we can beat the average teams whenever AB scores, but like a game tonight it didn't matter how many times he shot. Not to mention the 3 pointers for both teams tonight were horrible.
the OP got flamed pretty badly. i understand where he's going though. many people here haven't played competitive basketball or lack the knowledge of how team ball works. organized team ball is so different from pickup, they're two different worlds. And that's why the OP is getting flamed for this because of pure ignorance on the duties of a PG. No, I don't miss Rafer's chucking mentality and his usual 3-15 shooting night. But, I do miss Rafer's ability to run an offense, to dictate tempo, and to properly get Yao the ball. The Rockets have historically been a poor closing team, but ever since Rafer left, we've been even worse in crunch time situations. Fortunately, it hasn't translated into losses. But, come playoff time it will. Aaron is a tremendous scorer and Rafer is a poor one. But there are reasons why Aaron will never be considered a "true" PG, even in his days in Oregon. He plays tight in late game situations because his scoring instincts kick in. He overdribbles around screens, failing to make the quick pass to the rolling player. And most importantly, fails to get the team quickly in their offensive sets. With time, he'll learn this. But, right now, Rafer is a way better decision maker than Aaron. I've been saying this from day one, yet everyone overlooked it. I've been saying it before the Chicago game, then what happened. The Phoenix game, Brooks almost gave it away. The Denver game, Brooks almost gave it away. The Portland game, Brooks almost gave it away. Every game since the trade of Rafer, we've been up double digits because Aaron is such a tremendous scorer, and watched that lead evaporate come the 4th quarter because Aaron is such a poor floor general. Aaron needs to watch some Tony Parker film before he can be given the keys to the franchise.
or maybe got sasha ejected since sasha is a sensetive boy like last year's game when him and rafer tangled up.
Rafer is a better PG than Brooks, but I don't miss him because Lowry is proving to be better than I expected.
