Same. Loved harden but I'm ok with him not being here. Don't care to wish a grown man would change his mind so I can cheer for him.
I would argue that team that got beat by the Lakers had just as much chance to win a championship then harden Paul team and was derailed by injury just like Paul and hardens team was. Harden teams overall had better success though for sure.
I do not miss having my franchise player in MVP contention season after season. I do not miss being guaranteed to be favorites in contention for a championship season after season. I do not miss my franchise player leading NBA in scoring season after season after season. I do not miss my franchise player being compared to the all time GOATs after historic performances. I do not miss witnessing historic performances being common place, occurring regularly every season. I do not miss 50 point triple doubles, or our franchise player leading in Steals and/or Assists. But man, it sure feels good being at the bottom of the West because all the beaufltiful ball movement and other players not named Harden playing iso ball.
That team had 60 wins, that was a buzzsaw. It was also very versatile with 5 guys that could've been on all NBA defensive teams. Last years team was just incoherent disaster that never came together once.
Less than 200 messages in the 9 1/2 years since creating your account. I highly doubt you've been active on this board, but okay.
I miss the Rockets being a contending team because Harden is so good, but I'm surprised Im not missing him as much as I thought I would be. I'm probably just relived that whole "will he/wont he" stuff is over. It was very draining. Also my hate watching and animosity toward other players has decreased dramatically since Harden is no longer a Rocket. No more slander toward Harden as a Rockets is very liberating; It has been replaced by everyone loving Wood's journey to "superstarism" If Harden gets a chip, I will probably miss him a lot more.
Harden is so weird man. He never seems to do the stuff you want him to do while still being elite at the things he chooses to do. All of sudden he won't shoot.
Not talking about insulting posters here. You like to insult other stars, Harden's teammates, etc. In this case, you are insulting Adelman's teams, which achieved quite a bit in light of the obstacles they needed to overcome. Did you know that we were #4 in offensive rating with Kevin Martin as our first option? Chuck Hayes would have been an end of bench guy (might not even have made the roster) if he was on Harden-MDA team. He couldn't stand in the corner to shoot 3 like Tucker, and he couldn't do alley-oop like like Capela. He would be a complete liability in an ISO system.
I use to love to watch James Harden play basketball here in Houston, but as soon as he turned his back on this team I gave up on him ... and I’m prepared to do the same with Deshaun Watson
Which stars? Which teammates? Adleman's teams objectively had worst sucess than Dantoni and the Harden era, Addleman was then unable to make the playoffs with Minnesota his next stop. I think he's a good coach but its far cry from what he had here. That's a good accomplishment, my point still stands. Are you sure about that? You dont think Hayes could run pick and roll?
