I like the Rockets more than the Texans in general, but lately before this season it's been tough to really love the Rockets. There was so much turnover that rooting for a bunch of new players just isn't as fun. I love rooting for players who I know and have a history with. I love rooting for Andre just because he's been here. The last few seasons for Houston, every good player has been shipped out and replaced. It takes time to build a relationship with the new players. Like there is no way I can love Dwight Howard right now, a few months ago I didn't like him. Same thing with Harden last season. It's easy to love Andre Johnson, or Arian, or OD.
That's how I am, but I am not really interested in NFL or MLS, but if I were to be taken to a game I would root for the texans and dynamo
Too many locals don't understand this sidenote- HOU needs more championships. We're not far from Cleveland.
Not even close, Rockets. I so want to get excited about the Texans, but they are painful to watch. I love football, and I want them to do well, but they just don't capture my allegiance like the Rockets do. The Rockets have actually been in the big games, have won the big games, were champions, now real contenders again. The Texans are part of a long tradition of excruciating disappointments. The Rockets have Howard and Harden. The Texans have Schaub and Kubiak. Good luck with that.
I like the Rockets and basketball better than the Texans and the sport of football itself, but the NFL is a better organization and is more entertaining imo
In terms of Houston teams, my order's Rockets, Astros, Texans. As in, if you were to guarantee a championship for one of those teams, I would prefer Rockets > Astros > Texans. But I definitely find the pace of baseball way too slow to enjoy fully these days, and the 162 game season is way too long. But I do quite love baseball as a sport. Probably on the same level as football, which I think may be blasphemy in Texas.
Rockets have an advantage with history and rings. Perhaps the better question is "which team do you want winning a championship first?"
Can't remember if I already posted in this thread. Using my phone in too lazy to search. I'm the same as mad max when it comes to Houston professional sports teams. I watch all the Rockets games I can, have little desire to watch any other NBA games. Not really a fan of it as a whole. I don't watch much baseball outside of the Astros (again pre-csn). I honestly don't even know when the mls season is, I watch the dynamo when I stumble upon them in tv though. I prefer football over anything. Texans Ofcourse, done other nfl games here and there. Lots of college football.
If jj is able to have a few more seasons near what he did last year, he might go down as one of the goats too. Not a chop on Hakeem, but what jj did last year was unbelievable.
Rockets have a state of the art front office that are make smart and efficient moves. I love the Texans, but I don't like the decisions that their front office makes. They don't seem more conservative than most franchises. Complete opposite of the Rockets.
I can't imagine the Rockets leaving and it's the Houston Hornets. Clutch City is something that will live forever til the Earth explodes. I don't feel any connection to the Texans like I did with the Oilers. I do admit the Texans have been more interesting to watch the past several seasons..
I don't follow soccer as closely as I do basketball, baseball and football. But I definitely follow them and root for their success. While at the Rockets game Saturday night, I was disappointed to see the empty rafters in Toyota Center where the Aeros banners used to hang. I hate that they're gone.
