Love my job. Doing accouting so similar field as yours, although I'm sure yours requires much more time and analytical thinking than mine does. My hours are great, my duties are for the most part stress free, and I love the environment and the people that I work with. I think that last part is a huge factor as to what makes me enjoy it so much. I really cant imagine myself working anywhere else.

I'm in a pretty weird place right now. I left public accounting where I absolutely hated my job and now I'm in a place that I can't quite figure out. I like the people I work for and with for the most part (I'm an accounting manager) but some of the stuff with the Company itself bugs me. Our HR is pretty bad and my actual duties aren't all that hard. I could be learning a lot more.

But, the people are nice and the salary is good. Pretty easy commute and pretty decent benefits (could be better, but I'm sure everywhere is like that). Only way I think I could really do better is to get in on a much smaller company where I could see more things and really try to play a better role. I've thought about leaving, but I have only been here for about 6 months and I really don't want to leave until I've had a year under my belt. I just fear other companies will think I bounce around too much (was at my last job for 5 years though).

It is really hard to say, since I have a mortgage and a wife (she works too, but it is much easier with both of us having jobs). I'd like to pursue my dreams but those don't pay the bills. Ultimately I want to own my own business and I think by saving and trying to learn I can do that from the experiences in this job, but it will take time. Thankfully, time is what I have. It is so hard to figure out what you want to do. But I'm in a better boat than a lot of my friends, so it could be worse.

I don't like working, but given that I have to work, my job is pretty likeable. But, the whole question changed for me when I had kids anyway. I don't worry about having a job that is fulfilling and rewarding. It's interesting enough so far as work goes, no one is screaming and running around the office, no one wants a diaper changed or leaves dirty clothes on the stairs. And they give me money.

Certain posters might agree with this.

Not me, no no, not me. But someone on this board might.

I used to love my job. I hate it these days. Goes to show how much having the right boss matters.

Like my job well enough, commute sucks, pay is good, benefits are awesome and for the most part work with great people.

Just got a new CEO today so we will see what direction we head in.

The best people I worked with was at that hot low paying warehouse. We were all slaves that worked together with great ambitions. Now in this profession, I haven't seen a man, nothing but pansies.

I memorized all zipcodes as a package sorter, then they replaced me with a machine and said that even a monkey can do it. Fun times.

This post sounds like a typical white collar job.

    That post sounds oddly homoerotic.

I love my job. I left one job that I loved in November and moved to another job that is great. I get to do something a little different than from my previous job plus I got a nice salary increase, although the health benefits are not as good as my previous job. It's all good though, I am young and just needed to see a different side of my profession. I would like to get into the oil and gas industry some day, but for now I am pretty happy.

    Homoerotic eh?

You know why you're invisible? Cause you're talking from the closet.

    But I'd still be visible...

Something in that post about hot low paying slaves and not seeing men anymore.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

How can you be visible when you're inside a pitch black riddick closet? Explain that.

Yep. You want the D. You keep somehow thinking everything is in the shape of a penis.
