Yao is painful to watch sometmes...I don't think he's among the most exciting players in the NBA today.
For the most part, yao is okay with me, until he fumbles the ball or fall down.... I cant stand watching yao with 4minutes or less in the 4th quarter...he will turn the ball over like pancakes on a hot skillet
my stance is simple...yao is the franchise player...we haven't been place the first round.yao is clumsy, non-athletic, and simply clogs up the lane...trade him please!
OT...but it involves Yao. How in the blue #ell does Pinocchio get 18 free throws in one game, and only get 3 combined in 2 games earlier this month? The NBA is bullsH!* league with pussified owner....
The criticism that Rockets fans give to their OWN star player is really something I don't see in other sports fandoms. On one hand I guess it's a refreshing change from the usual. It gets really tiresome hearing "Kobe is perfect and the best player in the world, hater" from Lakers fans all the time. But it's still unjustified. I for one enjoy Yao play. I like to see a big man who actually plays like a classic big man, instead of settling for jumpers or only scoring from wide-open dunks. He has an array of moves: turn around jumpers, fadeaways, hook shots, his signature baseline spin, and dunks. Yes, he dunks, more than a lot of people give him credit for. Yao's "soft?" Who other than Shaq posts up as much as he does? Some people are also saying Yao "looks bad" a lot. This is a guy who hasn't shot under 50% since his rookie year, and is shooting 54% this season. On average he MUST "look bad" a lot less than a lot of other stars in this league. Know why Yao "looks bad" to you? Because you have sky-high expectations which no one can meet. Yao entered at the worst time, right after peak-Shaq's superhuman 3-peat. NO center will look hard in comparison to that. He also came into a franchise still remembering the glory days of Hakeem. So Yao will always be viewed as not as good as those other guys - even though he's better than a lot of people himself. The ESPN effect of always showing Yao getting posterized, or downplaying his own great moves, probably plays a role too. And of course the grass is always greener on the other side. You don't see KG, Bosh, or Dwight looking bad as much because you don't watch as many of their games with a critical eye.
