    Do you like MTV? Why or why not?

    I don't like MTV. I used to watch it back when I was in middle school, but I hate watching it now. The music they play and promote is terrible. It seems they care more about appearances than the actual music, and all the shows seem very materialistic or obscene. I want to know what you guys think.

    I like the idea of MTV, putting girls in bikinis then making them dance or getting them drunk and supplying the hottub.

    But I never actually watch it so I cannot comment on if I like it or not.

    I am not going to say MTV killed music, but they had a great show called, 'The Real World' and let that success lead to them totally changing the network from a music channel with a few shows to a reality network with a few hours of music.

    I never watch MTV and if someone offered me a million dollars if I could tell them what channel it is on my cable, I would not win. MHD is okay, they have alot of live music on there, but after a month of watching, you have pretty much seen their entire lineup that they rotate over and over again.

    MTV's only purpose is to cater to the adolescent demographic. Unfortunately, they decided to bring dog food and bad acting to the table...

    nick cannon is not funny, no one cares what a bunch high school students think, reality tv jumped the shark, mainstream music is in a stale state

    I haven't watched this channel since highschool. I read somewhere that they have an entire show dedicated to yo mama joke :confused:

    MTV hasn't started anything. MTV shows some kid's mom trying to hookup with an 18 year old boy. The only thing more pathetic than that is e-dating. Which I wouldn't be surprised if they made a show titled "IM my daughter".
