She has some songs I like. Live to Tell and Like a Prayer to name two. Plus, the first song a girl ever dedicated to me on the radio was True Blue, so she holds a little tiny special place in my heart.
This thread is on the second page and not one Reservoir Dogs reference? Yeah she's good. I haven't heard much of her new stuff but, Papa Don't Preach is my all time favorite pop song ever.
That Robbie Williams song is actually about Guy Ritchie. The rumor is that after he met madonna, he broke up with his then girlfriend and told her basically 'I love you, but she's madonna.' Robbie Williams dated that girl after Ritchie and heard about it.
who are all the haters voting but not responding in the thread. by the responses you'd think it'd be like 75/25, not 50/50 (not that there's anything wrong with being a hater). and since she's my favorite artist ever, i'll say yes i like her music.
Not a fan of her music, but I know she actually sings LIVE at her concerts, even when she's dancing. These days, there's something to be said for that...
Quoted for truth. I actually had a poster of the cover of "Ray of Light" on my wall in high school, right next to my Metallica and Tool posters. I was a weird kid. I really loved that album though. I can still listen to it. But the Immaculate Collection is all anyone needs and should be a mandatory piece of any CD collection. EDIT: I also beat it to her videos when I was a young'un. Madonna was HOT.
No, I don't like her music. Live to Tell is the only song I like, and I don't even like it that much. I do respect the fact that as a female artist she has been "a-list" for decades, which is a rarity
I like some of her older songs but after "Ray of Light", she hasn't had any other songs that I liked.
"I used to like her early stuff, 'Borderline,' but once she got into that 'Papa Don't Preach' phase, I tuned out." - Mr. Blue, Reservoir Dogs
she made some songs? no love for the writers, producers, musicians, engineers and arrangers who actually did the work? aww, who cares. It's a bunch of garbage anyway. Great marketing though!
and that poor autotune guy who probably didn't eat for months before an album release... ;~) Out of curiousity I did some searching to find a Madonna song not co-written with someone else (or completely written by someone else). I do give her props for some fine lyrics in this one: Shoo-Bee-Doo written by Madonna Track 7, Time: 5:14 ------------------------- Shoo bee doo bee doo ooh la la When I look in your eyes Baby here's what I see I see so much confusion And it's killing me When I look in your eyes Baby here's what I see I see so much confusion And it's killing me Well I can't take it anymore, baby Why don't you dry your eyes, try and realize Love can open any door, and maybe If you trust in me, I can make you see Chorus: Shoo bee doo bee doo ooh la la, come to me baby Shoo bee doo bee doo ooh la la, don't say maybe Shoo bee doo bee doo ooh la la, come to me baby Shoo bee doo bee doo ooh la la I can see you've been hurt before But don't compare them to me 'Cause I can give so much more You know you're all I see Well I can make it on my own, baby But I'd rather share all the love that's there I don't want to be alone, and maybe You will see the light, baby spend the night (chorus) Shoo bee doo bee doo Shoo bee doo bee doo, baby Come to me baby Pretty darling, don't say maybe That's the only one on that album I could find... I can't make it through more to find out how she does later in her career.
