Dad's side is German. I've done a lot of research on the family history and eventually found the manifest for the ship they arrived on. May 2, 1853. Left from Antwerp, Belgium. They were from Metzingen, Germany to be exact.

Also, Daniel Boone appears somewhere in my ancestry.

Wales. Well, mostly Wales, but there's some Irish in there too, I believe.

Hard to say. I have one grandmother who is Welsh, but the other three sides have been Canadian for a couple of centuries. My father’s relatives were United Empire Loyalists who came up from South Carolina, but my mother’s side came to Canada from New England a decade or so before that war. My father’s side were only in the US for a few decades and came from Ireland before that. My mother’s side goes back in the US to just after the Mayflower. A decedent with her surname married a woman who had come over on the Mayflower as a child. Both family names are Norman, however, and my father’s and I believe my mother’s side as well appear in the Domesday Book, so both families spent time in England and came from Normandy before that, and they both probably have roots in Scandinavia, probably Denmark. Allowing for marriages with the locals in all of these places, who knows what my DNA makeup looks like.

This is quite an interesting multi-everything community that Clutchfans has developed here.

I know you won't believe this, guys... but eh... MEXICO... and a little bit from Spain. ;)

Actually, my father's side is from Guanajuato, off a Spanish general's family with mestizo natives from nearby tribes, and everyone scattered about. On my mom's side, I know that we hail from the deeper Tamaulipas terrain with native and mestizo mix.

WTF, like Lady_Di, rhester, and weslinder, I'm a Mexican mutt.

I am unique, just like all of you.

my fathers parents were 2nd generation amercian-born germans. lived in a little german-catholic farmtown in iowa. my grandpa grew up speaking german and his pop pulled him out of school after 8th grade to work on the farm.

my moms mom is from india and my grandpa is hispanic - his parents were from monterrey, but he grew up in san antonio. my grandparents met while my gramps was stationed in india during wwii (he was an airforce mechanic) and he brought her to the u.s. after the war.

I'm at least 50% Irish from both sides. 25% Finnish, the rest is French, American Indian and English. Parts of my family go back at least 300 years in this country.

That website is awesome- one of the MDs I work with is a member. He's Indian but he says they traced part of his genes to northern Europe. I'm thinking of getting my son traced. It's two for the price of one that way.

This reminds me of a good friend who tells the story of, as a kid, getting an audience with his great grandfather.

My friend grew up in Iowa, and at age 9, he was very interested in the family origins.

"Greatgrandpa, where are our people from?"

"Why, our people come from Kansas!"

    My friend was very disappointed.

In my case, it is easy, my people are from Planet E

    ok.

Mostly Cambodian. Infact, all Cambodian, except a grand mother somewhere that is Chinese.

I'd like to think I was from Detroit, or East St. Louis, or Washington DC, or Cleveland.
