I am SOOO serious. I googled Franco (my last name) and genealogy. One of the first responses was a post from the Genealogy.com forums. It was a girl named Erika Franco looking for her biological father in Houston, Texas with a large family. A long time ago, my father cheated on my mom and had an illegitimate child named....Erika Franco!!! I sent her an e-mail and I seriously hope she responds.

My mom's family is from Mexico. Pictured below is my grandfather (the little boy) and my great-grandfather, who was an officer in the Mexican navy.



Dad's family is distantly Irish, I believe.

My grandfather on my mother's side was full blooded Italian. His parents came over from Sicily. My grand mother was half Scots-Irish and half Choctaw Indian.

On my fathers side, he's 1/4 German, Portuguese, French, and English.

I have mine traced back on one side to Wales prior to them coming to America and fighting in the Revolutionary war and Germany around 1800. The other side I have back to France mid 1800's and Germany 1908 (I'm stuck with this branch of the family).

If anyone hasn't done any genealogical research I suggest checking it out. It's really a lot of fun to try and trace the tree to see where they have moved to and from.

 

Pretty much Spanish all the way - mom's side from Galicia, dad's side from Canary Islands.

Spain is working on something similar for grandchildren. Right now, children of native-born citizens can get their citizenship

Let's see. My maternal grandmother is Italian and met my grandfather during the war. He was 2nd generation Italian-American, so I'm about 40% Italian.

The paternal side of my family has been in America since 1634 when Lord Baltimore's settlement arrived. That side contains some minor nobility way back when, and ultimately has some German roots if you go back even further. But that would put me as roughly 50% English.

The other 10% is a mixture of some French, other European influences, and a little native blood.
