    Technically wouldn't VOIP still be a land line because it comes through a cable?

    We still have one but are seriously looking at VOIP as a solution....

    Perhaps. If you disqualify Vonage as a land line, then you might as well disqualify U-verse voice since it is also technically VoIP. In the real world it really doesn't matter. POTS is a waste of money, period.
