lol shut up.. they have chased both d-will and howard in back to back off-seasons and failed. they develop talent? what talents have they developed?? Dirk is the end all be all of what has kept that organization relevant, they had a window in 2011 and dirk cashed in.. at the end of the year we will see which team is making the deeper playoff push..
I am not a big fan of any NBA superstars but I like the way Dirk plays and go about his basketball business. Oh about the Mavs... fk them!
Yes, here is how almost every game goes against them. We get off to a good start, by the half our lead is cut down to single digits, midway through the 3rd quarter we start getting lit up with jump shots, we start the 4th quarter tied or down by 2, and we collapse while Dallas makes everything to throw up. I thought I would stop hating them once Jason Terry no longer was on the team but now there is Monte Ellis. It's just annoying seeing them play against us, I do admit rooting for them against the Heat though.
I don't like your poll. The question: Do you hate the Mavs? The option should (have) be(en): Yes, I hate them with every fiber of my being and every ounce of my soul, and I hope Dirk "Blond Jesus" Nowitzki misses every free throw the refs award him. But I guess it's too wordy.
Of course I hate the mavs..is there any reason to like them? Dirk loses 1/3 of his scores if the refs didn't love him so much.especially after game 5 in the 2005 playoffs - the refs did everything in their power to keep us from having a chance in the final minutes. Heck..we even know now for a fact the refs were told to make that series go the full 7 games - at least according to former NBA ref Tim Donaghy. Their fair-weather fans are the worst in the league. When I moved up here in '98, I bought Rockets-Mavs tickets at the door on game day..walked in, the place was only half-full and at least of 1/3 of the fans were in Rockets gear.
Hate? HATE? That is a serious emotion that should be reserved for Hitler, child molesters and serial killers. So no I do not hate the Mavs. I get pleasure from the Rockets beating them. That is about it. Get a life dude.
I am very apathetic towards the Mavs. One series in last 25 years. Rockets lost series, but it was a surreal series. It seemed like the Rockets won every game, but the last one.
How is this even a question. ****ing hated the time I was living in Dallas ... had to watch that **** of a team.
I can't stand Cuban either. Dirk's a HOF'er that I would love to have had on our team. Can't hate on him or Tim D in SA even though their teams are arrch rivals.
if you think about it, then you probably use a word like hate in relation to the Mavs because: 1.) They beat us that playoff series with McGrady/Yao and that ticked every Rocket fan off for life. 2.) The Mavs have a tendency to beat our team in the regular season to the point where it's almost expected we lose when we play them. 3.) There is a natural I-45 rivalry between Houston and Dallas teams no matter the sport. 4.) You may not like the city of Dallas so you hate their teams, too. I fall into the points 1 and 2 category more than anything else. The problem I have with using the word hate in these terms is the Rockets players don't hate the Mavs. They probably have a healthy respect for them because they have lost so many games to them. Dirk is so used to beating up on the Rockets that I tend to dislike Dirk cause he really does expect never to lose to the Rockets since he has been in the league. In my opinion, it is to the point where he is cocky about it he is so used to it. It's hard for me to hate a team when the players don't seem to act like they hate each other. In fact, the rivalry between San Antonio and Houston is a much stronger rivalry in my opinion. I tend to hate the Spurs more. But, yes, I hate the Mavs in the sense that I dislike when we lose to them and love them when we beat them. This last game they beat us the Dallas Morning News wrote up an article about how this was the Mavs' best performance of the season even though the same article mentioned we were missing three key players. Doh! Them and theirs love to pat themselves on the back when they beat us. They pretty much expect to beat us no matter what every time is how I see it. For a while pre-Dwight, it felt like the Rockets expected to lose every time we played them because that is pretty much what they were doing.
