I totally agree with that about kobe haters kidrock8.Kobe is kobe.He is not mj will never be mj,doesnt want to be mj.He just wants to be the best player ever to play the game.Hes way on his away.Hes steps ahead of everyone in the league right now besides Shaq.He is the best player in the league right now.Shaq is the most dominant.Kobe has the whole package.Yes he is hyped up and the media loves him and he has a billion commercials and everyone compares him to mj but he is living up to all of it.Since 1997 or 98 he has been compred to mj and it has gotten more common every year.Heck this whole thread people are comparing him to mj and putting him on the bulls.Kobe is going to get better every year and prove to all the naysayers just how good he is if he hasnt already. He blows my mind.Look at what this kid has done at 24.24 Hes a kid and has 3 titles fine with Shaq but he sure has hepled them get there in every which way.He is not a sidekick, not a pippen. He plays the pippen and jordan role.He has more reponsibilities then jordan ever had.Phil said that. Desire well only taking 10 days off after winning his third title is desire.Treating every practice as a game is desire.Helping other players with their game and convinving them to stay like deven geroge and newly acquired rush is desire.sacrificing his whole game and potential for Shaq and his team to win is desire.Playing with a broken ankle is desire, or food poisioning.Taking over games no matter what the outcome could be is desire.Kobes middle name is desire. None can say kobe is gonna be better then jordan or will never be cause you dont know just like I dont. Its nto a fact.Just wait and see.Kobe is it and has been since he took over game 4 in 2000 when Shaq fouled out in the finals.
Hating a player who is not on your team has nothing to do with the player's talent. So using Kobe's stats and all that stuff to convince non-Laker fans to stop hating Kobe is simply a waste of time.
What the hell is going on?!? I started this thread almost 2 months ago, how was it ressurected? The whole thing w/ Kobe wanting to be MJ is real no matter how much Kobe defenders want to look the other way. kidrock, yeah if Kobe was born before MJ and when MJ got into the league he started studying film's of Kobe's freaking press conferences like Kobe did MJ I would be hating on MJ. Honestly, studying another man's off-court manerisms is scary. And once again I'll put this out there. TMac to LA and they have multiple rings while Kobe and the Magic go out in the 1st round every year. Put VC, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, Dirk, Cwebb, any top flight talent next to the Shaq of today (not the one in Orlando) and the Laks are champs PERIOD! Kobe is a great player and he's clutch, but he's not the best on his team, in the league and will not be the best ever.
Nothing wants to make me puke more than people who say T-Mac is better than Kobe. Or that Kobe is just another Penny...
But for how long? The championship teams in the 80s were deeper than the ones we have today. Bench players then could start for a good team today. In that span we had added 5 new expansion teams. David Stern is interested in expanding another team to Charlotte. Larry Bird is already rolling the press releases saying he's interested. There's also his ambitious plan to expand to Europe in the next 5-10 years. The influx of foreigners would probably stay in Europe. Marquee players would be inclined to hear an expansion team's offer because they can pay the maximum as opposed to a team with 2 superstars. Money tendencies would force all teams to balance out (on average...high profile teams could still be the exception) and keep the league diluted. It looks like everytime the league's quality is returning to times before David Stern is looking to expand and generate more revenue in a way only he can do.
Dude, I posted that stuff 2-3 months ago back before this thread died. I can't believe it got bumped up again. I can't remember enough about what I was saying to defend my position, but I still agree with whatever it was that I said.
