Why does everyone always talk crap on Craig S, I bet they wouldn't pull that crap on Calvin, because he's black. People tend to take Craig for granted as a nice guy, wait until he snaps back one of these days.
Doug Collins is okay. He does average more words per broadcast than other color guys. And sometimes during replays he keeps rambling on about stuff instead instead of hyping up a good play (his blabbering during the replay of the T-Mac on Bradley dunk). But dont have much problem with him. Rest assured they and the league WANTS and needs the Lakers to advance, lets not over expect too much balanced game calling. The league not making as much money this year wants a Kobe/Lebron finals matchup so bad. David Stern will be depressed all summer if the Lakers dont even go past the 2nd round.
The worst is when Collins is teamed with Bob Costas... Hyperbole, front-running first-name basising of players, Michael-this, Michael-that, etc., etc.
glad he gave props to yao and the rocket, but still hate him for sck superstars ass, especially lebron. he is narrow minded and total failure at both of his job
Doug Collins, JVG & Hubie Brown are the best color commentators on tv. Well-research, balanced (although JVG is a homer but I'm not complaining). Doug Collins is mellow but that's good especially since he's paired up with Kevin Harlan, it's a great mix. Mark Jackson is by far the worst commentator... he enjoys stating the obvious. "Yeah I agree with coach", or "Just put him on your hip"...
i'll never forget after the infamous brawl, doug collins was reporting from courtside, and you could tell he was just terrified.. he had this quiver in his voice like he was about to just break down and cry any sec.. it was hilarious
He is a whiny guy who talks tooo much. However, he is better than ESPN's Doris Burke or whatever her name is.
I hate how he pretty much never lets the other guy get a word in. He just keeps talking and talking and talking and talking. Then, when everyone and their grandmother knows that the tv station is about to go to a commercial break, he decides he wants to start talking again. And we all know when he talks, it takes at least 30 seconds to a minute to actually get in his full statement.
Don't know if anybody else caught it. Replay clearly showed Jordan Farmar's feet stepped inside the line of the restrict area when he was trying to take a charge from Kyle Lowery. The ref blew the call, but Collins had the full opportunity to re-exam it and point out the obvious mistake after seeing the replay. He lied through his teeth by siding with the ref. The guy has no integrity. BTW, it would be a three-point play if Lowery were rewarded and-1 and made the free throw to cut the Laker lead to only 5 with more than 7 minutes to play.
