That's what I do. I've been trying to do little things here and there to save energy (and the utility bill).
I use one of these primitive things to do my laundry. I wouldn't sully a replicant with menial labor!
I learned my lesson. I used to throw everything in the dryer including my nice shirts and jeans. They all shrunk, so now I hang dry them in my patio. Also, I turn my jeans inside out so they won't lose the color and fade as much.
You p*****s. I wash the hell out of my jeans on the hardest cycle possible and even construct my own hard water for it. I can't wait till they split a seam. That way I can say that I earned my mileage. If someone doesn't like my nuts, they need to admire something else. As for shrunken shirts. The smaller the better. I want a shirt so tight, it takes itself off when I inhale.
I don't hang dry anything except good dresses. I'm supposed to hang dry the bras but eh, I've done it a few times. If I spent a good amount of money on a bra, then I will hang it dry.
I can't imagine having to hang dry or dry clean my clothes. Hell, I never bother separating whites from colors. I guess when I graduate and get a real job, I'll have to start doing it.
I machine dry mostly everything, except shirts that I want to keep their color and/or not shrink, then I lay them on my dining room chairs... All my long sleeve shirts and slacks I take to the cleaners...Although, my brand new shirt I just wore once was ripped at the cleaners It cost me $66 for it and have been fighting with them to give me my money the past couple of days...I gave him the receipt and everything...he tried to say it already had a hole when he got it but I had to stop that real quick...
I didn't have to fight w/the dry cleaners... they immediately said they'd send a claim in to their insurance company. But...the insurance company wouldn't pay the cost of my shirt. And I only found that out after SEVEN months of checking every few weeks.. "we'll get the check from them in another week or 2". I'm sure they hoped I'd forget and they'd get to keep the $$ from the claim
