Sorry for bring up an old thread but I didn't want to start a new one since this was here. I am completely clueless about these different programs. I was thinking about downloading one of them but I don't really want to if I'm not going to be able to find the songs I'm looking for. Bands Like "Crimpshrine", "The Gr'ups", "Blatz" and many others. A lot of these band's releases are out of print and are very hard to find. Oh "Stretford" (sp?) is another one I really want to find. So do I have to download it to find out if it is even there or is there a way to search for the songs without downloading the programs? (Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I was told once that there are no stupid questions. Then my teacher told me that was a stupid question. ) I also heard there can be a lot of viruses in these things? Is that not really a problem as long as you know what you are doing? (Cause I will most likely not.) Thanks for any help. Blatz
I just looked up Blatz, Gr'ups, Crimpshine and stretford for you on Kazaa and although there were not many titles available, there were at least 10 for each artist. Kazaa has a huge database, so I reccommend that you d/l that program. But if you do, download kazaalite
no problem also, if you have a specific song in mind, type in the name of the song and not the artist, it will get better results
Also, if you don't find the tunes you're looking for the first time, don't give up. You can probably find them at another time. Think about how many people share files on Kazaa. All it takes is one of those people to have the tunes you're looking for. As soon as he turns on his computer, you're in. As long as he shares...
I store all my songs on another file (not the shared file) so the government look at me and say I am sharing 0 files, so they dont look into my downloading me anymore.
Sure. I simply set up my KazaaLite to unshare the files I download. Those threats are to an extent just scare tactics anyway. Although I don't DL as much as I used to...most of what I wanted I already have; not much out there I'm interested in these days.
They specifically said that they are targeting users who have "significant amount of shared music files". I, and many others don't share my music files. So, downloading is still safe...just don't share your files.
Kaaza is the way to go. Its the only P2P program Ive ever used so there might be a better one out there. But any time I want to download a song or an album or a movie or a software thing I can usually find it. Although Ive only gotten 1 of the computer games that I've tried to download to actually work and the movies usually have very poor quality no Im not talking p*rn. Despite that its still a great thing to have if you strictly want music
Exactly. You're ruining the spirit of it all. If everyone had that attitude, no one could ever get any music! btw, I don't share mine either
There will always be someone out there that will have files. One of the great things about being poor is that you are judgement proof. If you don't have any money they can't get any money. Also, the long arm of American justice stops at the our borders. Stores of files are held world wide, so despite the hype, I don't think file sharing is going to get a lot more difficult. A lot of people will host files just to thumb their noses at authority ( I fight authority , authority's always winning. Been doing it since I was a young kid and always come out grinning. I fight authority, authority always wi-ins.) Is it wrong? Yes, it is absolutly stealing artisitc property. Do I do it? Yes, being a human being I can choose do do something I know is wrong. Since I am not a sociopath I have to pay the price with conflicted feelings and guilt. The added stress will probably contribute to my eventual heart attack and early death but atleast I will have enjoyed the ride. Jeep
I can't seem to download Kazaa lite. When I click on the download button it says, "This page cannot be displayed" This sucks. Oh well, I will try again later.
Try this one: http://download.com.com/3000-2166-10035331.html But be sure to use this one every once in a while too: http://beam.to/spybotsd
I generally use mIRC for full albums, and the nice thing is they're always atleast 192 bitrate quality. I think that's what it's called anyways. Anyhow 192 is CD quality I believe so it's generally nice to download from them. I've used winmx, and use kazaalite. I used to use Morpheus before the original version got taken off the net. The funny thing I find is that no matter what ways the RIAA tries to do to stop music downloads, whether it be shutting down a popular p2p program, there's always another one that pops up afterwards. Although all the lawsuits as of late do seem rather scary, that's why I'm cautious about using Kazaa. At any rate I usually used KazaaLite for music videos or tv eps.
I am about to download Kazaa-Lite and there is a caption that reads, "- Make a backup of "My shared folder". Now I doubt I need to make a back up of it, and to be honest with you I don't even know if I have a "My shared folder". So I was wondering if someone here could let me know where it is , or is it just a folder that Kazaa-Lite adds while downloading? Thanks for any help.
