Do you give up 2010 first round pick to complete NY deal?

?

You choice?

  1. Not giving up a potential lottery pick. Keep McGrady.

  2. If that's what it takes, trade him. Jordan Hill was a lottery pick anyway.

Knick fans would love to trade Lee but Lee have a no trade clause and If he gets traded he loses out millions in his Bird rights.

    Nope, sorry.

Walsh must be taking some crap or seen the video. Probably the Morey mind trick has started to wear off and he is coming to his senses.

The truth is WE HOLD ALL THE CARDS (tmac's contract) and the only chance they have to get the amount of cap space they are looking for.

Honestly, the trade is not a steal for us as we are getting an unproven commodity in Hill and losing 2010 flexibilty with having to carry Jeffries.
Do the trade as it was or we sit on Mcgrady....

I am looking forward to this trade going down(sans our 2010 1st), just to see
if anything will pan out for us or any other trades can be made. No high hopes
    but .......IMWT

This presumed trade as is will automatically propel the Knicks into the Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Amare Stoudamire and Chris Bosh sweepstakes. Add in one of the above players plus Tracy and the Knicks revamp overnight and Donnie gets GM of the year. No way Morey should give up this years 1st round pick. No way.

NY can play hardball all they want. Morey is holding all the cards here. As long as Jeffries is on their books, they can only sign one free agent as the rest of the funds will have to be used on re-signing David Lee.

Ever since Walsh got to NY he's been selling the two max contract free agents in 2010 to their fans. If anything the Rockets aren't getting enough back as they are.

No, I'm tired of the Rockets giving up picks to get rid of players. Trading picks in later years, sure whatever, 2nd round picks ok, but I am not cool with the Rockets losing another potential young player in the first round.

We only get harrington if we keep cook, so we can keep cook and get harrington then just buyout/release cook and larry hughes (their both worthless)

The only thing that makes this trade really work for us is gaining New York's 2012 1st round pick, swapping 2011 1st rounds picks and getting New York's 2010 2nd round pick. By giving up our 1st round pick this year, it's as if we net zero 1st round picks in this deal. And that's not worth Jeffries' contract.

I'm sure NY will come to the conclusion that the only way they move Jeffries is by playing Morey's game. The cards are in Houston's hand. Not the other way around.

If we end up buying out McGrady's contract (debate whether we'd do it all you want, the act is moot for this discussion), New York still does not clear up the cap space for a 2nd max slot during the offseason. And having that 2nd max slot is the thing that makes this deal for New York so attractive.

New York will give in at the last minute, but not before we hear about a deal with a separate team that Houston is working on.

I have no doubt in my mind that whoever Morey picks in the 1st round (even if we make the playoffs and have a pick in the 20's) will be three times better than Hill.

Morey can do better with the 22nd pick in 2010 than Jordan Hill...

HELL NO!!!!!!!!if the knicks insist on that, than No deal!!!!the 2010 Draft is a really strong draft and at our possible position we could have Hassan Whiteside(7'0), Greg Monroe(6'11), or even possibly Montiejunas(7'0)(if he were to drop a bit), and all of those players have a much higher ceiling than Hill....

    No way, no-how.

If it came to this, just keep Tmac, renounce him in the summer, then renounce Scola and sign David Lee to a $10,000,000 per contract to teach the Knicks a lesson. (j/k, not gonna happen...)

Probably Walsh will have to settle for a 2nd rounder, maybe. He needs to shed Jeffries' contract. But if he thinks taking this to the deadline is gonna wash, Morey can just play up the Houston-and-Chicago-talking-deal angle....

    You guys don't get it.

Hill may or may not be in our plans but he IS an asset and you can use him as a trade piece later.

I won't give up a first rounder though.

To add to my previous statement, if Hill were in the 2010 NBA Draft he would be a late first early second round pick, in this upcoming draft....So, Its ridiculous of the knicks to ask for a possible top 10 pick for Jordan Hill....

You think Morey could flip Scola in two days?
