Girls I've dated had no problem with sex during. It's messy but towel underneath prevents stains on my egyptian cotton.

I get up every day in the morning the same as you. But I am not a real person. I do not eat pork rinds or go swimming in municipal pools. I not peruse magazines while waiting in doctors offices. I am not cordial to cashiers at supermarkets. I do not believe in casual Fridays. I do not wear sandals or jean shorts. What I am is a program, a program that transcends logic and emotion. I can deduce, I can decide, I can declare, I can destroy. I am a program without a programmer. I am a free being that functions without higher control. I am the machine.

My wife found out from some friends of hers that there are these strips she can pee on that will tell her how high her hormone levels are...basically, if she's ovulating or not. They seemed to have worked well enough for us...

First of all, mazyar needs to learn the difference between male and female parts.

The female cycle is 28 days on average; that does not mean it's going to be exactly 28 days for every woman, or the same number of days every time. Many of ours vary. Counting backwards alone isn't enough.

From 3 to 7 days before ovulation, depending on who you are, your uterus environment changes to keep sperm alive and accommodate the egg. (There are actually bodily fluids that accompany this, in small amounts; the "natural family planning" courses teach you how to recognize them. Long story short, it does work but you have to spend a lot of the month not doing anything, just to be safe.) After ovulation, they say it's 14 days until your period but it could be more or less depending on the person. You can recognize this point by bodily fluids or those little thermometers. If you're not going to do all that, just use some sort of contraception. It's good to know your cycle in general so you can avoid the most sensitive days if you're not intending to get pregnant, just in case something goes wrong with the condom or pill.

Which certain bodily fluids are you talking about here? Is it like sweat or like extra lubrication?

    Ye Olde Rhythm Method.

Worked for my parents... I was their only child. Still am.

BTW - If your spouse or S.O. communicates with you enough, you'll know what is best between the two of you... when, where, frequency, etc. And you'll know when it is time to strike while the iron is hot.

If you're really trying to get preggars, be sure to not over stress yourself about it. Let nature take it's course. It works.

The bodily fluid you need to watch is a type of "mucus" - not like the nose stuff, clearer, almost like extra thick lubrication. This comes from the vagina (it feels so weird typing that word on here, but anyway) and occurs during and right after ovulation. It is clear before ovulation, for up to a week, and cloudy white for a couple of days after. Supposedly it makes the environment easier for sperm to survive. Women don't produce very large amounts of this stuff, so it must be carefully observed in the restroom. The family planning people claim that it's a birth control method the husband and wife can use together, which is not accurate - it's the wife who's going to be able to observe these things and has to keep track of it.

Whenever this stuff is being produced and for four days after it changes color, you're not supposed to have sex. To be extra careful, they even suggest only doing it once a day (at bedtime) before the ovulation cycle to avoid any accidental mucus-to-sperm contact. It does work; I was married to a strict Catholic for six years (meaning no outside birth control) and never got pregnant.

Hope this isn't too much information. :) I know very well how not to get pregnant, though I'm afraid that if I keep putting it off I'll end up with no kids. Drive carefully, 90% of the people in the world are caused by accidents.
