I'm a movie addict, and I go see just about every big release (within my genre preferences of course), and this doesn't effect me one bit. Look, it was an awful day, and and awful scenario, but it's not the first of many to come. It was a spot occurance, with no evidence to show that more shootings were to come.

However, having said that, I wouldn't be surprised at all if within the next couple of years, theaters will be having detectors or added security. That's an entirely real scenario.

    RIP Aurora victims.

I watch movies at the Sundance in Downtown. Easy target for a gunmen since there are usually only around 20 people in the theater every time we go.

Won't change my cinema-going habits one bit. These days I seldom go to the cinema anyway because more than 90% of all movies look boring and/or un-creative. And most of the remaining 10% are the "wait for Netflix/Redbox" (it helps that I have a home theater at my house). Life goes on, is short, and should be enjoyed. If we stop going to the movies because of Holmes, then he and other lunatics like him win.

Definitely not giving up going to the movies..bad things happen all the time. Any number of random incidents could happen at any given time.

That said, when I saw Batman this past Friday, it was on my mind. I found myself looking at the exits every now and then, as crazy as that may be. You escape into a movie, you lose all sense of your surroundings that's for sure.

What? Not sure if I let it, but others' actions affect my decisions all the time.

Approximately as much as the fact of lightning does.

Certainly it affects me far less than driving a car as many more than 12 people die as a result of that every day.

An unstable person can walk into any public establishment in America (with our gun laws? come on) and shoot up the place.

If you are afraid of going to a movie theatre right now you might as well be scared to look outside the peephole of your front door.
