People who are slow to react to the traffic turn signal and reduce the number of backed up cars that can get through piss me off. I also hate tailgaters. In the case of tailgaters, I am passive-aggressive. I refuse to let them make me speed up - the 5 mph over the speed limit that I am going on a 2-3 lane road is plenty. I will, however, slow down for them so that they can tailgate more safely. I used to have to commute on Westheimer and some of those guys are the worst idiotic drivers - switching lanes like crazy trying to get ahead when every single Effing light is backed up. These guys are an accident waiting to happen. I had a road rage run-in with some middle-age-crisis dude a few years ago. He was driving some Camaro-type convertible and cut me off as we both turned from 6 onto Westheimer. I thought it would be appropriate to let him know that he was #1 with me, so I did. Well this asshat got in front of me in the far right lane, slammed on his brakes, and basically got me to stop. He got out of his car and started asking me who the hell I was to flip him off. He was obviously crazy, so I placated him and got him to leave. I haven't flipped anyone off since. Waaay too many nutjobs out there, most of them with guns.
Hmm crazy drivers. Tuesday, I was on Dairy Ashford at the Memorial intersection on my way to pick up my mom and grandma for a doctor's appointment. Right after Memorial, DA turns from 3 lanes to 2. I'm not in the mood to play the "beat them off the line" or "hope somebody lets me into the lane" game, so I just stay in the middle lane, no matter how backed up it is. Well I was right at the point where the left turn lane starts and it seems everybody had the same idea as me as the left lane that would eventually end was empty. So I'm just starring straight ahead, foot on the break, waiting for the green when I hear a loud pop. I have no idea what happened, but I know it came from my car (my uncle's actually). Then I see the culprit slide past me. Some f*cking moron tried to slide into the tiny space between me and a car trying to get into that left turn lane and hit my rear left brake light with his sideview mirror. So his sideview mirror is all hanging by some cords. Greenlight appears and he gets infront of me, for a second, I don't know what to do because it's my uncles car and even though I'm pretty sure the law is that family is covered automatically in Texas unless they force you to write down names of people who are excluded. Anyways, the guy gets into the right most lane and I'm thinking he is going to pull over somewhere. Ther are too many cars though and all the places we could pull over are inroads to apartments or streets into neighborhoods. I have to pass some cars to get into the right lane and I remember there's a corner store coming up, so I pull in there and turn around to see that the guy dissappeared. He must of taken one of those streets and booked. I've been kicking myself for not trying to get his license plate first.
