Do you enjoy reading the "Rockets Game Action" forum?

I brooded over your response for some time. I thought about coming back with some snide remark, but I decided I was better than that.

I take it that you are challenging me? You don't think that I can post in the Rockets forum anymore? Well, you are in for a surprise. No one backs me into a corner around here. Remember that as you read more and more posts from me in the main forum.

One of the main things I like about heypartner is that when he wants to make a point...he does so better than anyone else...and with real spunk!

 

On the whole I enjoy reading the Rockets forum. I would say that I read it more than the others. I also really like the new sticky threads.

I don't love constant negativity, but there is still plenty of good stuff in there. Probably more than in the hangout.

 

Oh Sonny...all you did was give me a prized collection for my signature.

Don't go trying to start a bunch of threads in the main forum to be some groundbreaker...that isn't the point.

Anyone complaining here should go give a good new poster a serious Kudos and response like I do and many,,,many others who mainly post in the main forum. We don't need new threads...we have new posters for that Manny...just give responses to good new posters...don't spam us with a bunch of Polls and Questions.

It's getting more and more wearisome and tedious to filter thru all the extraneous garble, but I still have this intrinsic calling to go back there again and again. As a Rox fan I am perfectly happy to spend 20min reading thru utter crap just for one more 6 word morsel of revealing Rox insight. The day begins and ends with that place.

Manny...just talk solutions....quick pointed blame and pretending any one person's contributions can lead a revolution. Just talk reasonable solutions.

if you want to take me up on a challenge...here's what could help organize the main thread:

1. We could stand to have a Rockets Game Photo thread...chaired by rockHEAD and w&s,,,maybe

2. We could stand to have a thread posting all links to the game from around the country. The great thing about this is that Clutch already does that on the frontpage but if a group of ron341 (paperboy) and a few others religiously do this at midnight or so, then they could really help Clutch, and the whole BBS. A group of 2 or 3 devoted BBSers could create a compilation thread of all game recap links.

see. Manny and Sonny...if you stop to think constructively you will stop thinking that I was bringing up internal issues. Hey...stop responding to me, and help the Main Forum....Think!!!

Think about how 2 or 3 members can consolidate multiple posting topics before they happen....Ummmm, rockets.com links, Game Photos...Media links...what else??

 

For the record, I thought your idea that you posted in the Feedback Forum was a good one. Also, I really think that coming up with a "game thread" and making it a sticky was an ingenious move.

I have already decided how I am going to handle this. I'm taking Smeg's suggestion of finding threads and posts by the Rockets forum posters that I like to read like Live, Relativist, GATER, Dreamshake, etc. Now that doesn't mean I'm not going to give threads not started by guys like that a chance. If the topic interests me than I'm going to read it. I'm just gonna skip the threads that are beating a dead horse or are obvious attempts at trolling.

Also, I don't mind being "challenged", but I do NOT like being pigeonholed here. Your pigeonholing of me, HP, torqued me more than the current state of affairs in the main forum.

But for the record, your ideas sound good.

I apologize for torquing you, and guys like you can really contribute....I was just actually jabbing at your Maurice Taylor Poll today that you asked to be deleted....

OK...far enough...it was funny after this thread started that you started that....

I'd just rather see you focus on consolidated threads in the Main forum than running Best Poster Polls in this forum. It doesn't really mater...do what you like, but my point,,,,which is consistent with every Admin in this thread was don't complain if you don't spend time welcoming new Game Action posters and responding to threads thus reinforcing good new posters and new threads.

 

Let's think about: approach,...or the lack of...

Either can be fine and dandy...Structure is great when you have organization...but I have been told a structure less environment will breed the cream of talent the most...In other words, certain posters can bring their best to the table when their posts aren't hampered by a classification or structured format...Don't get me wrong. A loose structure is obviously in place and has always been, but one can get carried away with grouping and subgrouping content.

Is it possible to have a combination of both?...

I have seen strides made by Clutch, crew, and prominent posters over the last few months which address implementing a more organized format...and I think this is good....I personally favor grouping all the crap together and making it into cute groups...But everyone is not like me...In the doldrums of chaos, life finds a way...and this ideology is conducive to allowing posters to think "out of the box, but relating to the forum"....

Do the posters make Clutchcity.net or does Clutchcity.net make the poster?

Ultimately this is Clutch's show...a great and grand show, obviously the goal is to encourage the "rockets game action" forum to be enjoyable...

The real deal is whether or not it is...and if it isn't, what can one poster do... to make a differance?

Well, windandsea organized all Chinese publications..right? ron341 is paperboy, right?

Now, expand that to more than one person....maybe rockHEAD and w&s join forces to create a single photo thread. Mayble ron341 has some paperboy friends who scour the internet for all links.

What we need is ideas by groups of more than one person. We need to stop waiting for Jeff and Clutch to do everything. That forum is wide open for organization of news and media and quotes and maybe....well....maybe even organization of all dreamcasting by Hottoddie, DearRock and GATER...that forum is ripe for user-based organization with no rules that ROXRAN is worried about.

For instance, no one told ron314 that The Cat was last year's paperboy...right? There was no rule....If a thread exists..people will respect it. The idea that Admins have to officially OK everything is causing lethargy. Just do it....If they don't like it, they will tell you, but they'll know you had good intentions.

Just don't try to force people to use your thread. If you build, they should come...if not...give up and wait for someone else to build it.

I could care less if the Hangout existed because I come here for Rocket news. The Hangout is a diversion.

If you're not a Rocket fan, why do you come to this site?

I am more than content to fill up my ignore list weeding out the trolls and idiots. I have no problem searching for the golden nugget posts.

I want to thank everyone who helps me stay current with all things Rockets. Thank you for finding those obscure articles, pics, stats, etc.

To those who are just trolls, idiots, nay-sayers, bashers, etc., well, I only see your posts one time.

I do miss the old ignore feature that completely eliminated the offending posts from vision.

I love the game forum.
