How are you guys putting Elvin Hayes as among the greatest Houston Rockets? Even above Rudy? I'm just trying to understand the reasoning. He only played 1 great season here. Then he came back at the end of his career and had about 2 average seasons and 1 lousy one. Almost all his great years were with San Diego and the Bullets. Are you guys saying you count the SD years as "Houston Rockets" years?

Welllll....the name of the thread is "Do you consider Yao Ming to be in the top five greatest Rockets?", not necessarily Houston.

So we are supposed to ignore his entire career with the Rockets? The fact that he had a great career with the University of Houston? He had 4 great seasons with the Rockets... four amazing seasons. He was the #1 pick in the draft by the Rockets. He played like a #1 pick. In fact, he played like few others have. Then we traded him for a bag of peanuts and a Nestle's Crunch. Was he the most lovable guy ever to put on a Rocket uniform? Absolutely not, but in my opinion, to ignore his entire career with the franchise and focus simply on that one season, and the time at the tail end of a great career, is goofy. In my opinion. :p

(and I didn't put him ahead of RudyT! :) )

and a I would put Yao at #6 at this point....If he resumes his career and is not hurt all the time, he could def move up. Man, the Rockets have a legendary lineup of big men...

    In order:

    Dream
    Moses
Elvin (including his SD years with the Rockets)
Clive (too bad we passed on him in the draft)
    Calvin
