scola flops..shane tends to take alot more legit charges than most players but sometimes he gets away with one... kevin martin is a master offensive flopper but thats not frowned upon. Lowry is just a bull.
Firstly, is what T-mac, Scola and Kevin does (pump fake then purposely shooting so that some part of their body touches the opponent and gets the foul) considered flopping? Whatever that answer is, I gringe when I see it. I don't consider embellishing a charge as a flop. Not at all. Because (and I've got a clear image of Manu doing this in my head) when Manu falls because somebody was bringing the ball above their head and their elbow touches, TOUCHES Manu chest, he falls flat. Now that is FLOPPING. To me there is a huge difference between embellishing a charge (a legal play) and Manu's flop (legal on a stage only-maybe Batman Jones can use him). So if my first question is answered as flopping, then we are most definately a flopping team. But if not, an adamant no.
there was a horrendous call last night where rose took a charge on lowry but the ref called it a block.
I can't stand flopping. I thought the league was going to crack down on it. And yes, the Rockets are a flopping team.
all the nba teams are flopping teams the best are in the playoffs and the greats win championships, this day and age
Yep. Scola always flopping, like he just got hit by a truck. Lowry falls down all the time on offense. So offensive flopping? And now JJ, who is an elite member of the flopping squad.
like other posters noted, they aren't as bad as kirilenko or sideshow bob. They flop even when the ball isn't near them. At least our guys do it with the rock in their hands or defending a player with the rock. Kirilenko could be on the other side of the court, alone, and just flop. Sideshow bob will flop if he can't get to a rebound or when he defends bigger centers.
I was thinking of starting a similar thread, but my title would have been more along the lines of "Are the Rockets the greatest flopping team in history?" Let's face it, we have virtually created the offensive flop. At the very least we have raised it to an offensive set. On the defensive end we are not as bad as some. I like to think that the Battier's and Hays'es of the world just know where the offensive player is going before they do. But certainly we know how to sell the defensive flop when we get the chance. I don't remember against whom, but it was a big game last year and the critical play was a charge taken by Hays. When asked he said (paraphrased) "It was a charge, but I had to sell it". All of that being said, the NBA would be a much, MUCH better league if they could eliminate flopping.
From time to time...? Lowry is one of the biggest floppers in the league. I'd say we're about average on the flop-o-meter. We have a few players who flop a whole lot, and the rest hardly flop at all.
Its ok, when they maximize the contact, but if there is no contact at all, and just fall, thats the bad thing, and I dont like it.
I would say the Rockets have floppers, particularly Lowry and Scola. Shane and Chuck tend to take hits and do not exaggerate like the other 2 do.
Until the NBA starts calling the flopping you just have to join in...and Yes, the Rockets flop a lot of them.. DD
