Most players have nothing but good things to say about him. Does he have a history of clashing with any of his players, other than McGrady?
I don't remember what was the deal between him and Hardaway. The Warriors were awful the prior year, and I guess Adelman wanted the change their style and Hardaway wasn't receptive to that. (Edit: Thanks for the link, Htown's2kFinest.) Adelman is a patient guy, when he feels a certain combination of players have worked well in the past. He's going to stick with them, maybe longer than some fans would prefer. Players often appreciate this. He's not like Don Nelson, constantly shuffling players in and out of the lineups.
RA probably falls in the middle with attracting star players. To be quite honest though, I'm not as big on RA as many users are. I think he is a very good coach....but nothing amazing. In addition, when he did that interview with Clyde I still feel like he didn't have a lot of faith in the team. I think he said something like, we have no player on this team that has been a go to guy in their career. Granted at the time, maybe he was saying that excluding Yao and Tracy due to injuries?
