    Sigh.

I was talking about IN MY KITCHEN.

I have a separate bar area outside of my kitchen with under-bar ice maker and yet another faucet/sink.

Sorry, I have taste, therefore will not be installing a Halsey Taylor fountain in my home like you're suggesting.

Yes. I am no pro but I'm working on it. There's something really satisfying about turning a pile of flour, eggs, salt, water and olive oil into delicious pasta. It's almost magical.

    Awesome.

Like anything, it takes time and trial and effort. I'd never really cared about baking anything more complicated than brownies or biscuits until recently, so I've been giving myself a crash course in bread making. Mostly because I can't find a decent rye/kolache/klobasnik/bollillo/bagel anywhere around.

    You only have one?

If you ever want to build out a proper outdoor kitchen, let me know.

I cook spaghetti by placing it in a spiral which evenly distributes the pasta and as the submerged parts cook and become noodle, the rest just falls into the water in a nice round fashion. Absolutely the best way to cook and avoids the whole sticking pasta at the bottom fiasco.

No. You have 5 water outlets...not sources.

Need to break it. Won't fit in my pot if I don't.

Can pasta be cooked in a microwave? If so, how many minutes?

Yes, same as a raw whole chicken. 20-25 minutes depending on your microwave's strength.

Not at home, but in our business kitchens. Very useful there because we boil some pretty big pots of water that would be hard to lug about. In a home though, it seems more like an aesthetic value than a practical one.

Don't use any water though. You don't want mushy pasta, the microwave will "seal" in moisture from the humidity of the surrounding air. Let me know how it turns out.

So, is anyone going to explain why one would be preferable to the other?

Yes. The most attractive woman I've ever dated did this. Her mom encouraged it by buying her this:
