a more reasonable question you should ask yourself dada, why does adelman make van gundy's 50 win team look like a lottery team?
My goodness, why is it so hard to believe T-Mac is injured? We all know his history. I don't think some fans care anymore. They WANT him to do something negative just so they can say something bad about him. Serioiusly though, since when did everyone become certified doctors looking through their TV screens? This board is getting worse by each lost.
or, here's a novel idea: 3. maybe he thought that, even though he really was hurt, he still might be able to help the team somehow and gave it a go? even though he turned out to be spectatularly wrong, that might be what he was thinking. look, everyone's frustrated with the loss and with t-mac, but if the guy's hurt, the guy's hurt. we saw how he was able to move around in preseason and at times earlier this season. do you really think he would just "decide" to not do those things this game, at all not even once? i know he settles for jumpers way too much for anyone's liking, but he usually mixes in at least a few drives, but tonight i don't remember him driving even once. he's hurt.
He's really hurt or not, I don't care. Who has never hurt in any kind of sport game?? If you're a man, try hard till you can't play. He should play WNBA.
I've criticized McGrady for dogging it, but I don't see any reason he would fake an injury out of the blue here. He's been on pathetic teams before, why would this season be any different? He missed half a season before under his "best coach ever" Jeff Van Gundy. Everyone said Steve Francis was making up his injuries last year but we've seen the physical signs that he's slowed down at age 30 and its cuz of SOMETHING other than being older and heavier. McGrady's not tough enough to play through injury, sure. And yeah this might be the Me-Mac Orlando version we're getting now. But you can also pencil him to miss 15 games in a year without any significant reason attached to it
maybe they need to start giving ice baths to the entire team after training sessions and games for injury prevention if they don't already do this.
Alonzo Mourning walks off the court with no knees. McGrady can't go what 15 more minutes? If T-Mac can't contribute by scoring he gives up, mails it in on defense, and stops setting up his teammates. Love affair is over. We can trade him for Gay and I wouldn't sweat it. Not at this point.
I believe he is hurt. If he would really avoid a MRI because he knows that he is actually healthy, then wow...I don't see any reason why he should be on this team anymore. So I believe he is hurt but I would guess not being able to help the team is hardly keeping him from a good sleep. And the OP question is hard to answer because if he played in the first half, I think he could have played in the second one. So the answer would be NO. But do we want him to play if his 1st half performance is what he is capable of at the moment? Probably not. About a month ago he and Yao were asked what was the best thing about JVG when compared to Adelman and vice versa. T-Mac said that under JVG they were ALWAYS prepared. I think that is what Nick is referring to.
What sucks is that no matter what you say about the Rockets these days, there will always be people who believe it.
I guess her injury bothers her a little but is not serious enough to keep her off the court. The Lady decided not to take an MRI, as an MRI would probably say she can play, while she indeed can play, she really doesn't want to play with discomfort and play worse than she normally can, for the sake of protecting her role of "game savior", "team leader", and "shining superstar" etc...just a guess. She's embarrassed by her recent performance.
Clearly, something is ailing him. He says his knee. Fine. In that regard I suppose he is really 'hurt', but you have to ask yourself what the man's threshold of pain is. I'm not suggesting he should play hurt if there is a serious injury, but any rational guy who makes 20 million dollars a year off his body would at least have it looked at. The fact that he won't get an MRI speaks volumes IMHO. Whatever the case, Tracy has proven he is going to be the type of player who misses at least 10-20 games a season. This does not bode well for a player who is so commanding and demonstrative on offense that his team must be constructed exclusively around his play, and the idea that the ball will be in his hands.
