D'Antoni will push for Lin if Nash goes down for extended period of time. That's the only way Lin goes to LA.

I prefer the option, "Morey is doing what he can to make us better"

I bet Morey is doing literally what he said he would do. Lin and Osik talks have been tabled until the regular season, just because he knows what their value is around the league and knows that it won't increase anymore until games are played, teams start tanking, and injuries mount.

Of course he would become active again if Aldridge or Love came loose. But the chance of that happen now is next to none.

I believe they are being shopped but Morey is not liking what these teams are offering. He will wait until he get a damn good offer back. Joker is a wiz in the game.

Why would Lin fit in Charlotte when they have Kemba Walker?

Half of ClutchFans would trade Jeremy Lin for free.

Someone with a balanced perspective will see that Jeremy Lin at the starting PG position, sharing substantial minutes with Bev/Brooks is the best fit.

Lin does not hold trade value at the moment.

Either way, Jeremy doesn't seem to care.

His latest facebook update is about some computer game :)

    "Jeremy Lin
My older brother convinced me to join Clash of Clans then told his wife he wanted to attack my base to steal my resources ... wow"

ahahha. relax guys, all your anal sphincters are tighter than a nulliparous woman's cervix.
    ok, bad analogy.

Who knows what is going down. The minute they signed Brooks I felt it was just a matter of time before one of the PG's was gone. Lin makes the most sense for a lot of reasons. He is a salary that will cause problems going forward and he does need the ball to be at his best. He is a better scorer and playmaker than anyone else we have and getting him the ball just makes sense. Only it doesn't make sense on a team with Melo or Kobe or Harden on it. Guys like that do most of the playmaking. If you take the ball out of Lin's hands you take away what he is best at.

So I believe there is some truth in that story even if he is just speculating. The sad thing is Lin will be an elite scoring pg. Not defender or all around pg but offensive playmaking scoring pg. And if not for Harden he would have shown more of that last year. He is everything needed to be that playmaking offensive pg. Plus we will not get what he is worth back in a trade. But I do think he is probably already gone. It's hard to see him fitting in with all the other pg's stashed. And I think Morey probably has a deal already in the pipeline and is only waiting to see if something better comes around before he pulls the lever.

Just think he might be making the same kind of mistake Cuban did when letting Nash go. I know Lin's contract gets ugly later but got to wonder if he might blow up later and become a long term second tier player in this league that wins.

By definition, anyone who has a join date before July 2012 cannot be an LOF...

There are some interesting ideas in the OP's article. Atlanta and Detroit could absorb Lin's salary. The only way LA takes him is if they can send back Nash and maintain cap space for 2014.

No it's not... sharing minutes with Brooks and Bev didn't work last year. McHale doesn't want to split time with 3 guards. And Morey wasn't interested in resigning Brooks and then all of sudden he was. Brooks said this came out of the blue. If Morey thought sharing substantial minutes with Bev/Brooks was the best fit he would have talked to Brooks from the get go like he did Garcia. But he didn't because that wasn't in his plans.

I think Morey is too smart not to have seen the advantages of keeping Brooks earlier and working on it. But something has changed and that something IMO can only mean one of two things, a great deal is on the horizon and someone want one of our pg's or the team has decided that Lin has to go either because of future tax issues or they really think the Job is Bev's now and Lin is just way overpaid to earn the money he makes as a backup.

There is another reason but I do not believe it to be true but I'll throw it out anyway. Maybe Harden requested it. Yes I know it is not likely but strager things have happened.

I think no one on this forum is naive enough to trust any article published in Bleacher report. It's a "gold standard" for sports writer. You publish on it, and you are basically saying you so desperate that you will make up anything to catch eyeballs. It's like publishing a paper on a very low quality scientific journal. Once you do it, you damage your reputation to the extent that it is not repairable.

Yeah. One of our PG will be gone and I agree it is most likely to be Lin. There is no way we use Lin the way we pay him. Harden is just too good and ball dominating for us to do that. Unless Harden is used in a role with more off-ball offense, Lin will be gone.

But I do not think Bev or Brook is our answer for PG, either. Bev needs to be much better than he is now to be a starting PG in a champaignship team.

Hi Amir! I still remember you as the person who said that the Dwight deal was 95% locked in well before free agency.

Any other news you want to share with us? Any other deals on the horizon regarding Asik or Lin or will things be quiet until the trade deadline?

imo within next month our starting 5 looks like this...

    Beverly
    Harden
    Parsons
    LMA
    D12

Not sure what we give up or how we do it, but I think it will happen.
