Wonder if we start seeing Lance pulled after 5 and Vince used for 2-3 innings most times Lance starts? Not exactly the tandem system they used in the minors, but something kind of similar. And both guys are familiar with it Could be that was a way to add starters in the minors like they always said it was, and also a long term plan to handle innings limits for the majors as opposed to what the Nat's did just shutting down Stras a few years back Just a thought
In the pregame interview, Hinch mentioned that he's not sure yet if VV will stay in the bullpen long-term. It seems like his decision was not about innings pitched but fit. He also said that Kazmir will be our #3 starter behind McHugh so that we don't have 2 lefties pitching back-to-back.
Good move Might be that VV will be in the pen for a while, then depending on McCullers's workload in his next start or 2, Lance and VV might switch spots for a bit
